April 27, 2022 Announcements
It’s a great day to be a Newberry Panther!
Here are the announcements for Wednesday, April 27th:
We are participating in our Week of HOPE. For the remainder of this week, we will set time aside each day to focus on topics like drug/alcohol use, how to support a peer who is in need, self-care, and other topics related to mental health. We will dedicate one period a day to opening a dialog in the classroom.
Students in the Academy of Criminal Justice magnet program will take their articulation exams tomorrow. Good luck Panthers!
Progress Reports will be available for viewing in Skyward tomorrow.
Spring tutoring continues this week On Mondays and Wednesdays we are offering tutoring in Algebra 1 in Mr. Birrenkott’s classroom, Geometry in Dr. Bolejack’s classroom, and Biology in Mr. Truesdell’s room. Then on Tuesdays and Thursdays, we will offer 9th English in Ms. Schentrup’s classroom and 10th grade English in Ms. Shelley’s classroom. All of these tutoring sessions will be from 3:00 pm until 4:30 pm.
After School CROP Sessions will continue today in Ms. Burkett’s classroom from 3:00 pm until 5:30 pm on designated CROP days through May 2nd. If you are planning to attend, please make sure to be on time and ready to work!
Students, do you need volunteer hours? The Newberry Elementary PTO needs your help with their Spring Carnival this Saturday (April 30th). You can sign up at https://www.signupgenius.com/go/8050b44a9af22a6ff2-nespto
Seniors, please check by often to the Counselor’s Corner on Canvas for new scholarship information. If you have any questions or need assistance, please come by and see Mrs. Cheggeh in the NHS Guidance Office.
Food and Drinks: There should be none in the buildings. NHS is a closed campus and students are not permitted to leave campus for lunch. Additionally, you may not have food dropped off or delivered to you. Students are not allowed to bring Polar Cups or “to go” cups to campus. Water bottles are encouraged and we have several bottle filling stations around campus.
Students, please remember to check your school email accounts every day for important announcements and reminders. Remember, if you are having trouble or have questions about anything at all, turn to an adult. And please, if you see something, say something (www.getfortifyfl.com). Success is best when it is shared BUT most importantly, “Always remember, Shepp loves the kids!”
