January 9, 2023 Announcements
It’s a great day to be a Newberry Panther!
Here are the announcements for Monday, January 9th:
The last day of the first semester is this Thursday (January 11th). Please make sure you turn in any missing assignments and make up any missing tests for your classes. The grading window will remain open to accept late assignments until January 18th. Finish strong Panthers!
Blue Crew will be cheering on our Panthers at the Basketball games tonight. Stop by and see Mrs. Kathi Thomas in the NHS Media Center if you have any questions.
PANTHERS, tickets for all NHS home sporting events will be sold at the entry gate of each game as well as online at https://gofan.co/app/school/FL17054 (children ages 4 and younger do not need a ticket). We will have a limited amount of change at each game, so please help us by having the exact ticket amount, if possible. Go Panthers!
Representatives from the US Army will be on the NHS campus on Monday (January 9th) during Lunch A and Lunch B to provide information about military service after graduation. Make sure to stop by if you’d like to receive information.
Panthers, please remember that as the weather begins to turn cooler outside, blankets are not allowed at school. Also, you must still follow all dress code policies, including not wearing pajamas, slippers, or any type of head coverings as only appropriate clothing is permitted to be worn on campus.
Lady Panthers, if you are interested in playing tennis this year, there will be an informational meeting in Mr. Marlowe's classroom this afternoon at 2:50 pm.
Seniors, don’t forget to order your cap and gown for graduation if you haven’t already done so! Order forms can be found in the NHS Front Office. Prices will increase after Thursday (December 15th), so make sure to order soon.
There will be an informational meeting tomorrow after school at 3:00 pm at the NHS Softball Field for any girl interested in playing softball this spring. See Coach Roundtree if you have any questions.
There will be a parent meeting tomorrow at 5:30 pm in the NHS Auditorium for any boy interested in playing lacrosse this spring. See Coach Jackson if you have any questions.
We want all our Panthers to remember the Panther way to Success:
*Be Reliable - Maintain consistency with what you say and do
*Be Respectful - Show consideration of someone or something
*Be Responsible - Be dependable, keep promises, and honor commitments
Tardies: Tardies impact school success and student behavior, are a distraction to all students, and cause a disruption in teaching. Make sure you’re on time every day, to every class. Excessive tardies may result in lunch detention or ISD.
Students, please remember to check your school email accounts every day for important announcements and reminders. Remember, if you are having trouble or have questions about anything at all, turn to an adult. And please, if you see something, say something (www.getfortifyfl.com). “Always remember, Shepp loves the kids!”
