September 12, 2023 Announcements

It’s a great day to be a Newberry Panther! 🐾
Here are the announcements Tuesday, September 12th:
After school CROP sessions will continue today in Ms. Burkett’s classroom from 3:00 pm until 6:00 pm. Students who were recommended to participate in order to retrieve credits for graduation received an email last week with information for attendance. If you have any questions, please contact the NHS Guidance Office ASAP.
Are you interested in joining the NHS Environmental Club? The Club’s first meeting will be tomorrow before school at 8:00 am in Mrs. Disabb's classroom.
Representatives from the US Army are scheduled to be on the NHS campus tomorrow during Lunch A and Lunch B to provide information about military service after graduation. Make sure to stop by if you’d like to receive information.
The NHS Blood Drive will be tomorrow in the NHS Auditorium. If you missed the sign up today, see Nurse Strickland if you are interested in donating.
Representatives from the Santa Fe Achieve Program will return to the NHS Media Center tomorrow. This program provides students with mentoring opportunities during high school and coaches students on career exploration, time management, financial aid, and more. Make sure to stop by and get more information if you are interested.
A recruiter from the US Air Force will be on the NHS campus on Thursday (September 14th) visiting with students by appointment only. If you are interested in meeting with the recruiter while he is here, please sign up in the NHS Guidance Office as soon as possible. Don’t miss out on this opportunity!
Tickets for the Homecoming Dance are still available in limited quantity. Get yours before school in Mr. Marlowe’s classroom for $15.00. The Dance will be this Saturday (September 16th) to kick off this year’s Homecoming Week.
Tickets will begin to be issued for any student vehicle parked on campus without a Student Parking Decal. If you haven’t gotten yours, see Mr. Treese before school in the NHS CJ Building. The cost for the annual parking pass is $30.00, which can be paid by cash or check (payable to Newberry High School). Please bring a copy of your driver’s license and vehicle registration with you to get your parking pass.
We want all our Panthers to remember the Panther way to Success:
*Be Reliable - Maintain consistency with what you say and do
*Be Respectful - Show consideration of someone or something
*Be Responsible - Be dependable, keep promises, and honor commitments
Today’s Reminder:
Food and Drinks: There should be no food or drinks in the buildings which are from outside campus. NHS is a closed campus and students are not permitted to leave campus for lunch. Additionally, you may not have food dropped off or delivered to you. Students are not allowed to bring Polar Cups or “to go” cups to campus. Water bottles are encouraged and we have several bottle filling stations around campus.
Students, please remember to check your school email accounts every day for important announcements and reminders. Remember, if you are having trouble or have questions about anything at all, turn to an adult. And please, if you see something, say something (www.getfortifyfl.com). “Always remember, Shepp loves the kids!”
