May 13, 2024 Announcements

It’s a great day to be a Newberry Panther! 🐾
Here are the announcements for Monday, May 13th:
Senior Week is quickly approaching and we have many fun activities planned (a glow party, field day activities, a trip to Camp Kulaqua/Hornsby Spring, and more)! You must be cleared from the debt list to participate and the cost to participate in all of the activities is $10.00. All money must be paid to Mrs. Kathi Thomas in the NHS Media Center ASAP (exact cash or check only).
Seniors, don’t forget that your final exams will be given this week on Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday. It is important to remember that semester exams can count toward a significant portion of the semester grades and any student who has more than six (6) unexcused absences for the semester MUST pass the final exam/test AND the class to receive credit. Good luck Panthers!
Juniors, there will be a meeting in the NHS Auditorium on Wednesday (May 15th) with SWI Photography regarding your senior picture opportunities.
Seniors, don’t forget that NHS lockers must be emptied and locks removed by Friday (May 17th). Also, 9th through 11th grade students must empty their lockers and remove the locks by Friday (May 24th). Any lock left on a locker will be cut off and any items left in lockers will be donated or disposed of. Please speak with Dean Burford or Dean Yarn if you have any questions.
Representatives from the US Marine Corps are scheduled to be on the NHS campus tomorrow during Lunch A and Lunch B to provide information about military service after graduation. Make sure to stop by if you’d like to receive information.
We want all our Panthers to remember the Panther way to Success:
*Be Reliable - Maintain consistency with what you say and do
*Be Respectful - Show consideration of someone or something
*Be Responsible - Be dependable, keep promises, and honor commitments
Today’s Reminder:
Dress Code: Make sure your school attire is appropriate and not distracting. You may not wear baggy/saggy pants and bottoms will not be shorter than “mid thigh”. Tops must cover the midriff, back, and sides of the body at all times. You may not wear bedroom slippers or shoes with wheels. Head coverings of any kind are not permitted to be worn inside. Students, please remember to check your school email accounts every day for important announcements and reminders. Remember, if you are having trouble or have questions about anything at all, turn to an adult. And please, if you see something, say something ( “Always remember, Shepp loves the kids!”
