It’s a great day to be a Newberry Panther!
Here are the announcements for Friday, August 30th:
Reminder: There is no school on Monday (September 2nd) as we celebrate Labor Day. Be safe and enjoy your three-day weekend, Panthers!
Student Parking Decals will go on sale beginning Tuesday (September 3rd) before school in the NHS CJ Building. The cost for the annual parking pass is $30.00, which can be paid by cash or check (payable to Newberry High School). Please bring a copy of your driver’s license and vehicle registration with you to get your parking pass. ALL STUDENTS parking on NHS school property MUST have a parking decal. Parking tickets will be issued beginning on Monday (September 9th). Parking is ONLY permitted in designated areas (junior and senior parking lots) and NO parking is allowed in any other areas on campus, including along the gym or the football field. If you have any questions, please see Mr. Treese.
The Sophomore SGA will meet on Tuesday (September 3rd) morning before school at 8:00 am in Mrs. Troy’s classroom.
The Academy of Criminal Justice will hold their Swearing-In Ceremony for all 9th grade students on Tuesday (September 2nd) at 7:00 pm in the NHS Auditorium.
The National Honor Society will meet on Wednesday (September 4th) before school at 8:10 am in Mrs. Troy’s classroom.
The Student Advisory Council (SAC) will hold their meeting via Zoom on Wednesday (September 3rd) beginning at 4:00 pm.
Homecoming Candidates must meet with Mr. Marlowe ASAP about being on the Homecoming Court. Final elections for the Homecoming Court will take place on Friday (September 6th).

TODAY’S REMINDER:
Phones and Headphones: These must be off and out of sight during class, unless your teacher gives specific permission for use. Cell phones, earbuds, airpods, headphones, and other electronic devices are only permitted to be in use before and after school, and during lunch periods. Students who have any types of these devices out when not permitted may receive disciplinary action.
Students, please remember to check your school email accounts every day for important announcements and reminders. Remember, if you are having trouble or have questions about anything at all, turn to an adult.
