September 4, 2024 Announcements
It’s a great day to be a Newberry Panther!
Here are the announcements for Wednesday, September 4th:
Starting tomorrow, the Deans’ Office will begin conducting tardy sweeps throughout the day. Any student late to class will receive one day of lunch detention. Please try to arrive at all classes on time and ready to learn each period.
Student Parking Decals are now on sale before school in the NHS CJ Building. The cost for the annual parking pass is $30.00, which can be paid by cash or check (payable to Newberry High School). Please bring a copy of your driver’s license and vehicle registration with you to get your parking pass. ALL STUDENTS parking on NHS school property MUST have a parking decal. Parking tickets will be issued beginning on Monday (September 9th). Parking is ONLY permitted in designated areas (junior and senior parking lots) and NO parking is allowed in any other areas on campus, including along the gym or the football field. If you have any questions, please see Mr. Treese.
The Junior class SGA will be having a general meeting before school tomorrow morning at 8:10 am in Mrs. Brady's classroom regarding homecoming activities. Please make sure to attend if you plan to participate.
GSA will hold a meeting after school today in Ms. Holyoke's classroom. Please stop by and see her if you have any questions or are interested in leadership.
Homecoming Candidates must meet with Mr. Marlowe ASAP about being on the Homecoming Court. Final elections for the Homecoming Court will take place on Friday (September 6th).
There will be a table set up in the NHS Commons Area during both Lunch A and Lunch B on Friday (September 6th) with information for any Lady Panthers who may be interested in participating on the girls’ weightlifting team this year. Make sure to stop by to get information and ask all your questions!
The first meeting for the NHS Photography Club will be immediately after school next Wednesday (September 11th) Mr. Phillips’ office. Please see Mr. Phillips if you have any questions.
We are committed to the success of ALL our students and want all our students to remember the Panther way to Success:
*Be Reliable - Maintain consistency with what you say and do
*Be Respectful - Show consideration of someone or something
*Be Responsible - Be dependable, keep promises, and honor commitments
TODAY’S REMINDER:
Food and Drinks: There should be no food or drinks in the buildings which are from outside campus. NHS is a closed campus and students are not permitted to leave campus for lunch. Additionally, you may not have food dropped off or delivered to you. Students are not allowed to bring Polar Cups or “to go” cups to campus. Water bottles are encouraged and we have several bottle filling stations around campus.
Students, please remember to check your school email accounts every day for important announcements and reminders. Remember, if you are having trouble or have questions about anything at all, turn to an adult. And please, if you see something, say something (www.getfortifyfl.com). “Always remember, Shepp loves the kids!”
