It’s a great day to be a Newberry Panther! 🐾
Here are the announcements for Thursday, September 5th:
The Deans’ Office has begun conducting tardy sweeps throughout the day. Any student late to class will receive one day of lunch detention. Please try to arrive at all classes on time and ready to learn each period.
Student Parking Decals are now on sale before school in the NHS CJ Building. The cost for the annual parking pass is $30.00, which can be paid by cash or check (payable to Newberry High School). Please bring a copy of your driver’s license and vehicle registration with you to get your parking pass. ALL STUDENTS parking on NHS school property MUST have a parking decal. Parking tickets will be issued beginning on Monday (September 9th). Parking is ONLY permitted in designated areas (junior and senior parking lots) and NO parking is allowed in any other areas on campus, including along the gym or the football field. If you have any questions, please see Mr. Treese.
There will be a table set up in the NHS Commons Area during both Lunch A and Lunch B tomorrow with information for any Lady Panthers who may be interested in participating on the girls’ weightlifting team this year. Make sure to stop by to get information and ask all your questions!
There will be a Homecoming Court meeting in the NHS Auditorium on Monday (September 9th) during 1st period. Make sure you arrive at school on time in order to participate!
After school CROP sessions will begin next week Monday (September 9th) through Wednesday (September 11th) in Ms. Burkett’s classroom from 3:00 pm until 6:15 pm. If you have any questions, please contact the NHS Guidance Office ASAP.
Representatives from the US Marine Corps are scheduled to be on the NHS campus on Tuesday (September 10th) during Lunch A and Lunch B to provide information about military service after graduation. Make sure to stop by if you’d like to receive information.
The first meeting for the NHS Photography Club will be immediately after school next Wednesday (September 11th) Mr. Phillips’ office. Please see Mr. Phillips if you have any questions.

TODAY’S REMINDER:
Dress Code: Make sure your school attire is appropriate and not distracting. You may not wear baggy/saggy pants and bottoms will not be shorter than “mid thigh”. Tops must cover the midriff, back, and sides of the body at all times. You may not wear bedroom slippers or shoes with wheels. Head coverings of any kind are not permitted to be worn inside. Failure to follow the dress code guidelines may result in lunch detention.
Students, please remember to check your school email accounts every day for important announcements and reminders.
