It’s a great day to be a Newberry Panther!
Here are the announcements for Friday, September 6th:
Annual Updates are now open in Skyward Family Access for families and changes or updates will be permitted until September 30th. Parents, please take a moment to access your Skyward Family Access account in order to review/update your child’s information, emergency contacts, the Student Code of Conduct, the Consent for Health Services form, and more.
The Deans’ Office has begun conducting tardy sweeps throughout the day. Any student late to class will receive one day of lunch detention. Please try to arrive at all classes on time and ready to learn each period.
Student Parking Decals are now on sale before school in the NHS CJ Building. The cost for the annual parking pass is $30.00, which can be paid by cash or check (payable to Newberry High School). Please bring a copy of your driver’s license and vehicle registration with you to get your parking pass. ALL STUDENTS parking on NHS school property MUST have a parking decal. Parking tickets will be issued beginning on Monday (September 9th). Parking is ONLY permitted in designated areas (junior and senior parking lots) and NO parking is allowed in any other areas on campus, including along the gym or the football field. There will be a mandatory Homecoming Court meeting for all sweethearts, princes, princesses, and the King and Queen candidates in the NHS Auditorium on Monday (September 9th) during 1st period. If you have been nominated for our Homecoming Court, make sure you arrive at school on time in order to participate!
After school CROP sessions will begin next week Monday (September 9th) through Wednesday (September 11th) in Ms. Burkett’s classroom from 3:00 pm until 6:15 pm. If you have any questions, please contact the NHS Guidance Office ASAP.
The Sophomore SGA will meet before school on Tuesday (September 10th) morning at 8:00 am in Mrs. Troy’s classroom.
Representatives from the US Marine Corps are scheduled to be on the NHS campus on Tuesday (September 10th) during Lunch A and Lunch B to provide information about military service after graduation. Make sure to stop by if you’d like to receive information.
The first meeting for the NHS Photography Club will be immediately after school next Wednesday (September 11th) Mr. Phillips’ office. Please see Mr. Phillips if you have any questions.

TODAY’S REMINDER:
Phones and Headphones: These must be off and out of sight during class, unless your teacher gives specific permission for use. Cell phones, earbuds, airpods, headphones, and other electronic devices are only permitted to be in use before and after school, and during lunch periods. Students who have any types of these devices out when not permitted may receive disciplinary action.
Students, please remember to check your school email accounts every day for important announcements and reminders. Remember, if you are having trouble or have questions about anything at all, turn to an adult.
