September 10, 2024 Announcements
It’s a great day to be a Newberry Panther!
Here are the announcements for Tuesday, September 10th:
Parking is ONLY permitted in designated areas (junior and senior parking lots) and NO parking is allowed in any other areas on campus, including along the gym or the football field. If you park in any unauthorized area on the NHS campus, your vehicle is subject to being towed from the property.
At this time, the Annual Updates are open in Skyward Family Access for families and changes or updates will be permitted until September 30th. Parents, please take a moment to access your Skyward account in order to review/update your child’s information, emergency contacts, the Student Code of Conduct, the Consent for Health Services form, and more.
Panthers, don't forget to bring your laptop and charging cord to school EVERY DAY as most of the testing this year will be done on the laptops. Additionally, these laptops provide important access to digital textbooks and assist students in transitioning between classwork, testing, and homework. (If your laptop has stopped working or has other operational issues, please bring it so the NHS Site Tech, Mr. Phillips, can investigate and diagnose any issues.)
HOMECOMING COURT! Please remember to turn in your completed forms to the student body president by Friday (September 13th).
The Blue Crew will meet before school tomorrow at 8:00 am in the NHS Media Center. Don’t be late!
The 9th grade SGA officers will meet before school tomorrow at 8:00 am in the NHS Media Center.
After school CROP sessions will continue today and tomorrow in Ms. Burkett’s classroom from 3:00 pm until 6:15 pm. If you have any questions, please contact the NHS Guidance Office ASAP.

The NHS Book Club will hold a meeting after school tomorrow from 3:00 pm until 5:00 pm in Ms. Talkington’s classroom in the Science Building. All are welcome!
There will be a meeting tomorrow after school in the NHS Auditorium for any boy interested in playing soccer this year. See Coach Roundtree if you have any questions.

All members of the National Art Honors Society need to bring your $5.00 dues to Ms. Holyoke by this Friday (September 13th). In addition, make sure to let her know if you are going to help paint the school mural after school this Friday (September 13th) and/or Saturday (September 14th) morning from 9:00 am until 12:00 pm. All NAHS students are responsible for coordinating their own transportation to and from school.
GSA will meet after school next Wednesday (September 18th) in Ms. Holyoke’s classroom.
Panthers, your Student Government is proud to bring you a Winter Formal dance this year in December in lieu of a Homecoming Dance. More information to come.
We are committed to the success of ALL our students and want all our students to remember the Panther way to Success:
*Be Reliable - Maintain consistency with what you say and do
*Be Respectful - Show consideration of someone or something
*Be Responsible - Be dependable, keep promises, and honor commitments
TODAY’S REMINDER:
Food and Drinks: There should be no food or drinks in the buildings which are from outside campus. NHS is a closed campus and students are not permitted to leave campus for lunch. Additionally, you may not have food dropped off or delivered to you. Students are not allowed to bring Polar Cups or “to go” cups to campus. Water bottles are encouraged and we have several bottle filling stations around campus.
Students, please remember to check your school email accounts every day for important announcements and reminders. Remember, if you are having trouble or have questions about anything at all, turn to an adult. And please, if you see something, say something (www.getfortifyfl.com). “Always remember, Shepp loves the kids!”
