It’s a great day to be a Newberry Panther!
Here are the announcements for Tuesday, September 17th:
Progress Reports are now available for viewing in Skyward. If you are unable to view the Progress Report in Skyward, please contact the NHS Guidance Office for assistance.
There will be a meeting for any girl interested in playing soccer this year after school today at 3:15 in the NHS Auditorium.
REMINDER: The Deans’ Office is continuing to conduct tardy sweeps throughout the day. Any student late to class will receive one day of lunch detention. Please try to arrive at all classes on time and ready to learn each period.
Representatives from the US Army are scheduled to be on the NHS campus tomorrow during Lunch A and Lunch B to provide information about military service after graduation. Make sure to stop by if you’d like to receive information.
Conditioning begins today and continues every Tuesday and Thursday immediately after school in the NHS Weightlifting Room until 4:00 pm for any girl interested in participating in the Weightlifting Team this year. Please remember that you MUST have an up-to-date physical on file in order to participate. See Mrs. Ross in the Guidance Office if you have any questions.
As we celebrate Hispanic Heritage Month, the Spanish Club would like to invite students to join our Club and help us plan cultural events, including field trips, food, and music. There will be a meeting after school every Tuesday from 3:00 pm until 4:00 pm in Seňora Santiago’s classroom. Te esperamos!
The 9th Grade SGA will meet tomorrow morning before school at 8:00 am in the NHS Media Center.
The National Honor Society will meet before school tomorrow at 8:10 am in Mrs. Troy’s classroom.
GSA will meet after school tomorrow in Ms. Holyoke’s classroom.
After school CROP sessions will continue this week tomorrow and Thursday (September 19th) ONLY in Ms. Burkett’s classroom from 3:00 pm until 5:30 pm. If you have any questions, please contact the NHS Guidance Office ASAP.
The Kona Ice truck is partnering with NHS to raise funds for our school and will be back on Thursday (September 19th) in front of the Criminal Justice building (by the drop off loop) from 3:00 pm until 3:30 pm. Please stop by and help support Newberry High School students and get a yummy icy treat!
The last parent/interest meeting for competition cheer will be held in the Oak View Middle School Gym on Monday (September 23rd) from 7:30 pm until 8:00 pm. Competition Cheer tryouts will be held in the OVMS gym on Monday (September 30th) from 6:00 pm until 8:30 pm. Good luck Panthers!
The Annual Updates are open in Skyward Family Access for families and changes or updates will be permitted until September 30th. Parents, please take a moment to access your Skyward account in order to review/update your child’s information, emergency contacts, the Student Code of Conduct, the Consent for Health Services form, and more.

TODAY’S REMINDER:
Dress Code: Make sure your school attire is appropriate and not distracting. You may not wear baggy/saggy pants and bottoms will not be shorter than “mid thigh”. Tops must cover the midriff, back, and sides of the body at all times. You may not wear bedroom slippers or shoes with wheels. Head coverings of any kind are not permitted to be worn inside. Failure to follow the dress code guidelines may result in lunch detention.
