September 18, 2024 Announcements

It’s a great day to be a Newberry Panther! 🐾
Here are the announcements for Wednesday, September 18th:
IMPORTANT: Panthers, don't forget to bring your laptop and charging cord to school EVERY DAY as most of the testing this year will be done on the laptops. Additionally, these laptops provide important access to digital textbooks and assist students in transitioning between classwork, testing, and homework. (If your laptop has stopped working or has other operational issues, please bring it so the NHS Site Tech, Mr. Phillips, can investigate and diagnose any issues.)
Progress Reports are available for viewing in Skyward. If you are unable to view the Progress Report in Skyward, please contact the NHS Guidance Office for assistance.
Conditioning will continue immediately after school tomorrow in the NHS Weightlifting Room until 4:00 pm for any girl interested in the weightlifting team. Please remember that you MUST have an up-to-date physical on file in order to participate. See Mrs. Ross in the Guidance Office if you have any questions.
After school CROP sessions will be held today and tomorrow in Ms. Burkett’s classroom from 3:00 pm until 5:30 pm. If you have any questions, please contact the NHS Guidance Office ASAP.
The Kona Ice truck will be back TOMORROW in front of the Criminal Justice building (by the drop off loop) from 3:00 pm until 3:30 pm. Please stop by and help support Newberry High School students and get a yummy icy treat!
Our Co-ed Competition Cheer Squad will have a table set upon the NHS Commons Area on Friday (September 20th) during Lunch A and Lunch B to speak with any students who may be interested in participating this year.
The last parent/interest meeting for co-ed competition cheer will be held in the Oak View Middle School Gym on Monday (September 23rd) from 7:30 pm until 8:00 pm and tryouts will be held in the OVMS gym on Monday (September 30th) from 6:00 pm until 8:30 pm. Good luck Panthers!
The Annual Updates are open in Skyward Family Access for families and changes or updates will be permitted until September 30th. Parents, please take a moment to access your Skyward account in order to review/update your child’s information, emergency contacts, the Student Code of Conduct, the Consent for Health Services form, and more.
We are committed to the success of ALL our students and want all our students to remember the Panther way to Success:
*Be Reliable - Maintain consistency with what you say and do
*Be Respectful - Show consideration of someone or something
*Be Responsible - Be dependable, keep promises, and honor commitments
TODAY’S REMINDER:
Phones and Headphones: These must be off and out of sight during class, unless your teacher gives specific permission for use. Cell phones, earbuds, airpods, headphones, and other electronic devices are only permitted to be in use before and after school, and during lunch periods. Students who have any types of these devices out when not permitted may receive disciplinary action.
Students, please remember to check your school email accounts every day for important announcements and reminders. Remember, if you are having trouble or have questions about anything at all, turn to an adult. And please, if you see something, say something (www.getfortifyfl.com). “Always remember, Shepp loves the kids!”
