October 16, 2024 Announcements
It’s a great day to be a Newberry Panther!
Here are the announcements for Wednesday, October 16th:
There is no school on Friday (October 18th) due to the University of Florida homecoming festivities. Additionally, there is no school on Monday (October 21st) due to a teacher workday to finalize grades for the 1st nine weeks of school. Enjoy your long 4-day weekend and stay safe Panthers!
REMINDER: There should be no food or drinks in the buildings which are from outside campus. NHS is a closed campus and students are not permitted to leave campus for lunch. Additionally, students may not have food dropped off or delivered to them at campus. Students are not allowed to bring Polar Cups or “to go” cups to campus. Water bottles are encouraged and we have several bottle filling stations around campus.
Boys soccer tryouts will conclude after school today at the Easton Sports Complex from 3:30 pm until 5:30 pm.
After school CROP sessions for students who are credit deficient for graduation will continue after school next week Tuesday (October 22nd) through Thursday (October 24th) in Ms. Burkett’s classroom from 3:00 pm until 6:15 pm. There are many remaining dates and it’s not too late to participate! If you have any questions, please contact the NHS Guidance Office ASAP.
Report Cards for the 1st nine weeks of this school year will be available in Skyward on Thursday (October 24th).
Remember that the Flu Mist vaccine will be given to students who returned a signed consent form on Friday (October 25th) during the school day. If you are interested in your child receiving Flu Mist, please contact the NHS Nurse ASAP.
Don’t forget that the ASVAB will be given on the NHS campus during the school day on Wednesday (November 6th) to any interested 10th through 12th grade student. This test is an informative aptitude test and is used to determine qualification for enlistment in the military. This test is only given once a year so don’t miss your chance to take it!
We are committed to the success of ALL our students! Panthers, please remember the Panther way to Success:
*Be Reliable - Maintain consistency with what you say and do
*Be Respectful - Show consideration of someone or something
*Be Responsible - Be dependable, keep promises, and honor commitments
TODAY’S REMINDER:
Tardies: Tardies impact school success and student behavior, are a distraction to all students, and cause a disruption in teaching. Make sure you’re on time every day, to every class. Excessive tardies may result in lunch detention or ISD.
Students, please remember to check your school email accounts every day for important announcements and reminders. Remember, if you are having trouble or have questions about anything at all, turn to an adult. And please, if you see something, say something (www.getfortifyfl.com). “Always remember, Shepp loves the kids!”
