It’s a great day to be a Newberry Panther! 🐾
Here are the announcements for Monday, November 18th:
REMINDER: For the safety and security of everyone on campus, please DO NOT open the entrance gate for anyone, even if you think you may know them. Students and visitors MUST ONLY be let into our campus by staff in the NHS Front Office. If you are asked to open the gate, please let them know that they must ring the bell to be buzzed in.
The Annual Thanksgiving Food Drive ends on Wednesday (November 20th) and our goal is to feed 30 NHS families for the holiday. Please don’t forget to bring in your food drive items to help fill the boxes in your 1st period class. Each time your class fills a box, your teacher will get a leaf added to the leaderboard in the hallway by the NHS Front Office. The 1st period class that collects the most boxes will win a yummy, gourmet breakfast!
Seniors, there are only a few guaranteed seats remaining for this year's Grad Bash at Universal Studios. If you are interested in participating, make sure to see Mr. Marlowe in order to provide your deposit before all the guaranteed seats are taken!
After school CROP sessions for students who are credit deficient for graduation will continue this week (today through Thursday) in Ms. Burkett’s classroom from 3:00 pm until 6:15 pm. There are many remaining dates and it’s not too late to participate! If you have any questions, please contact the NHS Guidance Office ASAP.
Our next grading period closes tomorrow and Progress Reports will be available for viewing in Skyward Thursday (November 21st). If you have any issues in viewing this grading report or are unable to access Skyward, please contact Mrs. Honeycutt in the NHS Guidance Office for assistance.
The Sophomore SGA will meet before school tomorrow at 8:00 am in Mrs. Troy’s classroom.
Representatives from the US Marine Corps are scheduled to be on the NHS campus tomorrow during Lunch A and Lunch B to provide information about military service after graduation. Make sure to stop by if you’d like to receive information.
The Spanish Club will hold a meeting after school tomorrow from 3:00 pm until 4:00 pm in Seňora Santiago’s classroom. Te esperamos!
The National Honor Society will hold its induction ceremony for the Class of 2027 tomorrow night in the NHS Auditorium beginning at 6:00 pm.
Representatives from the Santa Fe Achieve Program will be back in the NHS Media Center on Wednesday (November 20th). Make sure to stop by and get more information if you are interested in this fantastic program. The Freshmen SGA will meet before school on Wednesday (November 20th) at 8:00 am in the NHS Media Center.

The NHS Book Club will hold a meeting after school on Wednesday (November 20th) from 3:00 pm until 5:00 pm in Ms. Talkington’s classroom in the Science Building. All are welcome!

Phones and Headphones: These must be off and out of sight during class, unless your teacher gives specific permission for use. Cell phones, earbuds, airpods, headphones, and other electronic devices are only permitted to be in use before and after school, and during lunch periods. Students who have any types of these devices out when not permitted may receive disciplinary action.
