Here are the announcements for Monday, January 13th:
REMINDER: For the safety and security of everyone on campus, please DO NOT open the entrance gate for anyone, even if you think you may know them. Students and visitors MUST ONLY be let into our campus by staff in the NHS Front Office. If you are asked to open the gate, please let them know that they must ring the bell to be buzzed in.
The NHS College Fair is tomorrow from 5:30 pm until 7:00 pm in the NHS Gymnasium. All area high school students and their parents are invited to attend this event, and prior registration is not required. Visit the NHS website for more information: https://www.sbac.edu/Page/31745. Make sure to speak with your NHS Guidance Counselor if you have any questions. We look forward to seeing you then!
Due to the weather today, baseball tryouts have been postponed until tomorrow right after school at the NHS Baseball Field. You must have your physical and athletic clearance completed before being eligible to try out.
Additionally, girls flag football workouts for today have been canceled.
The Sophomore SGA will meet before school tomorrow at 8:00 am in Mrs. Troy’s classroom.
A representative from Lively Technical College in Tallahassee FL will be at the NHS campus tomorrow during Lunch A and Lunch B to speak with students about the amazing opportunities they offer. Make sure to stop by to learn more and visit their website for information https://www.livelytech.com/
Representatives from the US Marine Corps are scheduled to be on the NHS campus tomorrow during Lunch A and Lunch B to provide information about military service after graduation. Make sure to stop by if you’d like to receive information.
The Spanish Club will hold a meeting after school tomorrow from 3:00 pm until 4:00 pm in Seňora Santiago’s classroom. Te esperamos!
The Freshmen SGA will meet before school on Wednesday (January 15th) at 8:00 am in the NHS Media Center.
Representatives from the Santa Fe Achieve Program will be back in the NHS Media Center on Wednesday (January 15th). Make sure to stop by and get more information if you are interested in this fantastic program. The NHS Book Club will hold a meeting after school on Wednesday (January 15th) from 3:00 pm until 5:00 pm in Ms. Talkington’s classroom in the Science Building. All are welcome!
There will be a mandatory robotics meeting before school on Thursday (January 16th) at 8:00 am in Ms. Troy’s classroom. Don’t be late!
Seniors, don't forget to get your graduation caps and gowns ordered as the deadline is QUICKLY approaching. Order forms and information packets can be found in the NHS Front Office or you may order online directly at orders.jostens.com
Softball tryouts will be held promptly at 3:30 pm on Tuesday (January 21st) at the NHS Softball Field. Any girls interested in trying out for the NHS softball program will need to have all physical and participation forms completed prior to the tryout date. If the appropriate forms are not complete, you may not try out. Forms can be found in the NHS Front Office and online. Please bring all equipment needed to run, field, catch, throw, and hit. If you have any additional questions, see Mrs. Coach Roundtree.

TODAY’S REMINDER:
Dress Code: Make sure your school attire is appropriate and not distracting. You may not wear baggy/saggy pants and bottoms will not be shorter than “mid thigh”. Tops must cover the midriff, back, and sides of the body at all times. You may not wear bedroom slippers or shoes with wheels. Head coverings of any kind are not permitted to be worn inside. Failure to follow the dress code guidelines may result in lunch detention.
Students, please remember to check your school email accounts every day for important announcements and reminders.
