February 26, 2025 Announcements
It’s a great day to be a Newberry Panther!

Here are the announcements for Wednesday, February 26th:
REMINDER: Panthers, don't forget to bring your laptop and charging cord to school EVERY DAY as most of the testing this year will be done on the laptops. Additionally, these laptops provide important access to digital textbooks and assist students in transitioning between classwork, testing, and homework. (If your laptop has stopped working or has other operational issues, please bring it so the NHS Site Tech, Mr. Phillips, can investigate and diagnose any issues.)
If you need volunteer/community service hours, please contact Destiny Community Church as they need volunteers to help with their Father/Daughter Dance on Saturday (March 8th), which begins at 5:00 pm.
After school CROP sessions for students who are credit deficient for graduation will continue this week (today through Thursday) in Ms. Burkett’s classroom from 3:00 pm until 5:30 pm. If you have any questions, please contact the NHS Guidance Office ASAP.
The FCA will have a meeting this Friday (February 28th) before school at 8:10 am in the NHS Gym. If you’d like to become involved, make sure to stop by!
Quarter 3 Progress Reports are now available in Skyward. If you have any issues in viewing the report card or are unable to access Skyward, please contact Mrs. Honeycutt in the NHS Guidance Office for assistance.
February is Black History Month. Each day we will be showcasing notable Black inventors and/or African Americans who have made significant contributions in various fields. Today we celebrate Dr. Marie Maynard Daly, the first African American woman to earn a Ph.D. in chemistry in the U.S., contributing significantly to the understanding of cholesterol and hypertension.
We are committed to the success of ALL our students! Panthers, please remember the Panther Way to Success:
*Be Reliable - Maintain consistency with what you say and do
*Be Respectful - Show consideration of someone or something
*Be Responsible - Be dependable, keep promises, and honor commitments
TODAY’S REMINDER:
Tardies: Tardies impact school success and student behavior, are a distraction to all students, and cause a disruption in teaching. Make sure you’re on time every day, to every class. Excessive tardies may result in lunch detention or ISD.
Students, please remember to check your school email accounts every day for important announcements and reminders. Remember, if you are having trouble or have questions about anything at all, turn to an adult. And please, if you see something, say something (www.getfortifyfl.com). “Always remember, Shepp loves the kids!”
