It’s a great day to be a Newberry Panther! 🐾
Here are the announcements for Thursday, February 27th:
REMINDER: ALL STUDENTS parking on NHS school property MUST have a parking decal and parking is ONLY permitted in designated areas (junior and senior parking lots). NO parking is allowed in any other areas on campus, including along the gym or the football field. If you park in any unauthorized area on the NHS campus, your vehicle is subject to being towed from the property.
If you need volunteer/community service hours, please contact Destiny Community Church as they need volunteers to help with their Father/Daughter Dance on Saturday (March 8th), which begins at 5:00 pm.
Our Lady Panthers softball team would like to invite everyone out to the home softball game tonight. The theme is Princess Day and the Ladies will honor Mrs. Kathi Thomas. Pre-game events begin around 5:30 pm and Mrs. Thomas will throw out the first pitch of the game.
After school CROP sessions for students who are credit deficient for graduation will continue today in Ms. Burkett’s classroom from 3:00 pm until 5:30 pm. If you have any questions, please contact the NHS Guidance Office ASAP.
The FCA will have a meeting tomorrow before school at 8:10 am in the NHS Gym. If you’d like to become involved, make sure to stop by!
There will be a working Environmental Science Club meeting before school on Monday (March 3rd) at 8:00 am in Mrs. Spina‘s classroom. Don’t be late!
Representatives from the Santa Fe Achieve Program will be back in the NHS Media Center on Monday (March 3rd). Make sure to stop by and get more information if you are interested in this fantastic program. February is Black History Month. Each day we will be showcasing notable Black inventors and/or African Americans who have made significant contributions in various fields. Today we celebrate Lonnie G. Johnson, inventor of the Super Soaker water gun and former NASA engineer.

TODAY’S REMINDER:
Dress Code: Make sure your school attire is appropriate and not distracting. You may not wear baggy/saggy pants and bottoms will not be shorter than “mid thigh”. Tops must cover the midriff, back, and sides of the body at all times. You may not wear bedroom slippers or shoes with wheels. Head coverings of any kind are not permitted to be worn inside. Failure to follow the dress code guidelines may result in lunch detention.
Students, please remember to check your school email accounts every day for important announcements and reminders.
