March 5, 2025 Announcements

It’s a great day to be a Newberry Panther! 🐾
Here are the announcements for Wednesday, March 5th:
REMINDER: Panthers, don't forget to bring your laptop and charging cord to school EVERY DAY as most of the testing this year will be done on the laptops. Additionally, these laptops provide important access to digital textbooks and assist students in transitioning between classwork, testing, and homework. (If your laptop has stopped working or has other operational issues, please bring it so the NHS Site Tech, Mr. Phillips, can investigate and diagnose any issues.)
Tomorrow for National School Breakfast Week, our food staff will be serving scrambled eggs and hash browns, so make sure to stop by!
After school CROP sessions for students who are credit deficient for graduation will continue this week (today and Thursday) in Ms. Burkett’s classroom from 3:00 pm until 5:30 pm. If you have any questions, please contact the NHS Guidance Office ASAP.
The National Honor Society is once again working with the University of Florida Dance Marathon organization to help support the pediatric wing at UF Health. This year the dance will be held on Friday (March 7th) from 5:00 pm until 10:00 pm in the NHS Gym. Tickets will be sold at the door. This is a great social event for students and will include games, line dancing, fundraising pushes, and more!!
SWI Photography will be on the NHS campus on Monday (March 10th) to take pictures for the Senior Year, Senior Car, Senior Superlatives, and Club photos for the NHS 2024-25 Yearbook. Students will be released from classes only as needed on this day. Make sure to be practicing your BEST smiles!
Representatives from the Santa Fe Achieve Program will be back in the NHS Media Center on Monday (March 10th). Make sure to stop by and get more information if you are interested in this fantastic program. Visit their website for more information about this opportunity: https://www.sfcollege.edu/prepare/achieve/
We are committed to the success of ALL our students! Panthers, please remember the Panther Way to Success:
*Be Reliable - Maintain consistency with what you say and do
*Be Respectful - Show consideration of someone or something
*Be Responsible - Be dependable, keep promises, and honor commitments
TODAY’S REMINDER:
Tardies: Tardies impact school success and student behavior, are a distraction to all students, and cause a disruption in teaching. Make sure you’re on time every day, to every class. Excessive tardies may result in lunch detention or ISD.
Students, please remember to check your school email accounts every day for important announcements and reminders. Remember, if you are having trouble or have questions about anything at all, turn to an adult. And please, if you see something, say something (www.getfortifyfl.com). “Always remember, Shepp loves the kids!”
