It’s a great day to be a Newberry Panther! 

Here are the announcements for Monday, March 10th:
REMINDER: For the safety and security of everyone on campus, please DO NOT open the entrance gate for anyone, even if you think you may know them. Students and visitors MUST ONLY be let into our campus by staff in the NHS Front Office. If you are asked to open the gate, please let them know that they must ring the bell to be buzzed in.
After school CROP sessions for students who are credit deficient for graduation will continue this week (today through Thursday) in Ms. Burkett’s classroom from 3:00 pm until 5:30 pm. If you have any questions, please contact the NHS Guidance Office ASAP.
Senior Car & Senior ‘25 photos have been rescheduled for Thursday morning (March 13th) due to today’s weather. Please be on time! We will make an announcement when we are ready.
Senior Superlative photos will also be done on Thursday (March 13th). Please plan to be here to take those photos. If you cannot be here, please see Mrs. Honeycutt to schedule them.
Seniors, we still need your baby pictures for the yearbook. You can either bring your baby pictures to Mrs. Honeycutt (they will be scanned and returned immediately) or email your picture directly to the yearbook staff at nhsyearbook@gm.sbac.edu no later than Friday (March 14th). If you have any questions, please see Mrs. Honeycutt ASAP.
The Sophomore SGA will meet before school tomorrow at 8:00 am in Mrs. Troy’s classroom.
Representatives from the US Marine Corps are scheduled to be on the NHS campus tomorrow during Lunch A and Lunch B to provide information about military service after graduation. Make sure to stop by if you’d like to receive information.
The Spanish Club will hold a meeting after school tomorrow from 3:00 pm until 4:00 pm in Seňora Santiago’s classroom. Te esperamos!
The Freshmen SGA will meet before school on Wednesday (March 12th) at 8:00 am in the NHS Media Center.
Representatives from the Santa Fe Achieve Program will be back in the NHS Media Center on Wednesday (March 12th). Make sure to stop by and get more information if you are interested in this fantastic program. The NHS Book Club will hold a meeting after school on Wednesday (March 12th) from 3:00 pm until 5:00 pm in Ms. Talkington’s classroom in the Science Building. All are welcome!
It is time for the annual Powderpuff Football game! During 5th and 6th period this Friday (March 14th), you can watch the classes battle for the Championship! Will the Juniors hold their title? Will the Seniors regain their pride? SGA will be selling the armbands before school and during both lunches for only $2.00, so don't miss out on all the action!
There will be Open Gym sessions every Monday and Thursday beginning Monday (March 24th) from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm. Parent meetings will be held on March 27th, April 3rd, and April 10th at 6:30 pm in the NHS Gym. Cheer tryouts for next year’s squad will be April 14th through April 18th in the NHS Gym. Come out and show off your spirit!

TODAY’S REMINDER:
Dress Code: Make sure your school attire is appropriate and not distracting. You may not wear baggy/saggy pants and bottoms will not be shorter than “mid thigh”. Tops must cover the midriff, back, and sides of the body at all times. You may not wear bedroom slippers or shoes with wheels. Head coverings of any kind are not permitted to be worn inside. Failure to follow the dress code guidelines may result in lunch detention.
Students, please remember to check your school email accounts every day for important announcements and reminders. Remember, if you are having trouble or have questions about anything at all, turn to an adult.
