March 12, 2025 Announcements
It’s a great day to be a Newberry Panther!

Here are the announcements for Wednesday, March 12th:
REMINDER: Panthers, don't forget to bring your laptop and charging cord to school EVERY DAY as most of the testing this year will be done on the laptops. Additionally, these laptops provide important access to digital textbooks and assist students in transitioning between classwork, testing, and homework. (If your laptop has stopped working or has other operational issues, please bring it so the NHS Site Tech, Mr. Phillips, can investigate and diagnose any issues.)
After school CROP sessions for students who are credit deficient for graduation will continue this week (today through Thursday) in Ms. Burkett’s classroom from 3:00 pm until 5:30 pm. If you have any questions, please contact the NHS Guidance Office ASAP.
Senior car & Senior ‘25 photos have been rescheduled for tomorrow morning. Please be on time! We will make an announcement when we are ready.
Senior Superlative photos will also be done tomorrow. Please plan to be here to take those photos. If you cannot be here, please see Mrs. Honeycutt to schedule them.
Seniors, we still need your baby pictures for the yearbook. THIS PICTURE REQUEST IS SEPARATE FROM THE KINDERGARTEN PHOTOS YOU SENT IN FOR THE SENIOR VIDEO. You can either bring your baby pictures to Mrs. Honeycutt (they will be scanned and returned immediately) or email your picture directly to the yearbook staff at nhsyearbook@gm.sbac.edu no later than Friday (March 14th). If you have any questions, please see Mrs. Honeycutt ASAP.
Any students who are interested in performing during the upcoming Miss NHS Pageant (such as singing, dancing, or playing an instrument), must speak with Mrs. Kathi Thomas in the NHS Media Center ASAP.
The FCA will have a meeting this Friday (March 14th) before school at 8:10 am in the NHS Gym. If you’d like to become involved, make sure to stop by!
It is time for the annual Powderpuff Football game! During 5th and 6th period this Friday (March 14th), you can watch the classes battle for the Championship! Will the Juniors hold their title? Will the Seniors regain their pride? SGA will be selling the armbands before school and during both lunches for only $2.00, so don't miss out on all the action!
There will be Open Gym sessions every Monday and Thursday beginning Monday (March 24th) from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm. Parent meetings will be held on March 27th, April 3rd, and April 10th at 6:30 pm in the NHS Gym. Cheer tryouts for next year’s squad will be April 14th through April 18th in the NHS Gym. Come out and show off your spirit!
We are committed to the success of ALL our students! Panthers, please remember the Panther Way to Success:
*Be Reliable - Maintain consistency with what you say and do
*Be Respectful - Show consideration of someone or something
*Be Responsible - Be dependable, keep promises, and honor commitments
TODAY’S REMINDER:
Tardies: Tardies impact school success and student behavior, are a distraction to all students, and cause a disruption in teaching. Make sure you’re on time every day, to every class. Excessive tardies may result in lunch detention or ISD.
Students, please remember to check your school email accounts every day for important announcements and reminders. Remember, if you are having trouble or have questions about anything at all, turn to an adult. And please, if you see something, say something (www.getfortifyfl.com). “Always remember, Shepp loves the kids!”
