May 7, 2025 Announcements
It’s a great day to be a Newberry Panther!

Here are the announcements for Wednesday, May 7th:
REMINDER: Panthers, don't forget to bring your laptop and charging cord to school EVERY DAY as most of the testing this year will be done on the laptops. Additionally, these laptops provide important access to digital textbooks and assist students in transitioning between classwork, testing, and homework. (If your laptop has stopped working or has other operational issues, please bring it so the NHS Site Tech, Mr. Phillips, can investigate and diagnose any issues.)
As we continue with end-of-year testing, make sure you are prepared by getting a good night’s sleep, eating a healthy breakfast, and getting to school on time! Please also minimize late check ins and early check outs to avoid causing disruptions to other students who are testing around campus.
Students, please start bringing in any textbooks or library books you may have at home or in your car, even books you may have acquired from another school in the county. This is especially important for our Seniors in order to remain off the debt list as the end of the year approaches. All books must be turned in by the end of the year or you will be charged for them.
After school CROP sessions for students who are credit deficient for graduation will continue this week (today through Thursday) after school in Ms. Burkett’s classroom from 3:00 pm until 5:30 pm. There are many remaining dates and it’s not too late to participate! If you have any questions, please contact the NHS Guidance Office ASAP.
Progress Reports are now available in Skyward. If you have any issues in viewing the report card or are unable to access Skyward, please contact Mrs. Honeycutt in the NHS Guidance Office for assistance.
ACPS has partnered with Hazel Health, meaning your student can get high-quality telehealth care at no cost to your family. Students can get teletherapy at school or at home on any smartphone, tablet, or computer. All Hazel Health visits are safe and confidential. Visit https://getstarted.hazel.co/district/alachua for more information.
We are committed to the success of ALL our students! Panthers, please remember the Panther Way to Success:
*Be Reliable - Maintain consistency with what you say and do
*Be Respectful - Show consideration of someone or something
*Be Responsible - Be dependable, keep promises, and honor commitments
TODAY’S REMINDER:
Dress Code: Make sure your school attire is appropriate and not distracting. You may not wear baggy/saggy pants and bottoms will not be shorter than “mid thigh”. Tops must cover the midriff, back, and sides of the body at all times. You may not wear bedroom slippers or shoes with wheels. Head coverings of any kind are not permitted to be worn inside. Failure to follow the dress code guidelines may result in lunch detention.
Students, please remember to check your school email accounts every day for important announcements and reminders. Remember, if you are having trouble or have questions about anything at all, turn to an adult. And please, if you see something, say something (www.getfortifyfl.com). “Always remember, Shepp loves the kids!”
