August 19, 2022 Announcements

It’s a great day to be a Newberry Panther! 🐾
Here are the announcements for Friday, August 19th:
NHS Computer Lab 1 is now open during both Lunch periods. See Ms. Phillips at the start of your lunch period to obtain a pass. Computers will be available on a first come, first serve basis.
The Blue Crew will meet at Panther field tonight in the student section next to the NHS band. Make sure you’re on time showing your Panther Pride!
The 9th grade Criminal Justice Swearing In Ceremony will take place on Monday night (August 22nd) in the NHS Auditorium at 6:30 pm.
Conditioning for boys’ basketball will be held on Mondays and Thursdays from 3:15 pm until 4:45 pm beginning on Monday (August 22nd). Any boys who are not currently playing other sports are welcome to participate.
If you are interested in participating in the archery team this year, there will be an informational meeting on Monday (August 22nd) after school from 3:00 pm until 4:30 pm in Mr. Marlowe’s classroom. See Mr. Marlowe if you have any questions.
Tryouts for the Panther basketball cheer squad will be Tuesday (August 23rd) in the NHS Auditorium from 3:15 pm to 5:15 pm. Make sure to bring your spirit and try out!
If you are interested in participating in the Robotics Club this year, stop by Dr. Bolejack’s classroom after school on Wednesday (August 24th) at 3:00 pm to get additional information. Students must have their own transportation home at the end of the meeting.
There will be a parent meeting in the NHS Commons Area on Thursday (August 25th) for any student interested in playing either boys’ or girls’ soccer this year. Make sure a parent attends the meeting if you are interested in participating!

Today’s Reminder:
Phones and Headphones: These must be off and out of sight, both in class and during class changes. Cell phones, earbuds, airpods, headphones, and other electronic devices are only permitted to be in use before and after school, and during lunch periods. Students who are discovered to have any types of these devices may result in disciplinary action.
Students, please remember to check your school email accounts every day throughout the summer for important announcements and reminders. Remember, if you are having trouble or have questions about anything at all, turn to an adult. And please, if you see something, say something ( “Always remember, Shepp loves the kids!”
