November 9, 2022 Announcements

It’s a great day to be a Newberry Panther! 🐾
Here are the announcements for Wednesday, November 9th:
For the safety of our students and staff, all of today’s after school activities are canceled and students must leave the NHS campus after the dismissal bell today.
Due to the potential effects of Tropical Storm Nicole, all schools and district offices will be closed tomorrow (November 10th). Stay safe Panthers!
Panthers, please remember there will be no school this Friday (November 11th) as we observe Veterans Day in order to honor military veterans of the US Armed Forces. For those who have served to protect our country, we thank you for your service!
Representatives from the US Navy will be on the NHS campus on Monday (November 14th) during Lunch A and Lunch B to provide information about military service after graduation. Make sure to stop by if you’d like to receive information.
There will be an Archery Club meeting on Monday (November 14th) after school beginning at 3:00 pm in Mr. Marlowe’s classroom.
Seniors, ads for the 2022-23 yearbook are now on sale. The deadline to purchase is Thursday (December 15th). Information can be found on the NHS website or you can see Ms. Gennaro for more information.
We still have ECF Chromebook laptops available for distribution to any NHS student. These laptops are equipped with 4G LTE, which will allow school-based internet access for homework and school projects. If you are interested in obtaining a laptop for your child, please contact Ms. Steele (steelesd@gm.sbac.edu) in the NHS Media Center as soon as possible.
Panthers, please remember that as the weather begins to turn cooler outside, blankets are not allowed at school. Also, you must still follow all dress code policies, including not wearing pajamas, slippers, or any type of head coverings as only appropriate clothing is permitted to be worn on campus.
We want all our Panthers to remember the Panther way to Success:
*Be Reliable - Maintain consistency with what you say and do
*Be Respectful - Show consideration of someone or something
*Be Responsible - Be dependable, keep promises, and honor commitments
Today’s Reminder:
Food and Drinks: There should be no food or drinks in the buildings which are from outside campus. NHS is a closed campus and students are not permitted to leave campus for lunch. Additionally, you may not have food dropped off or delivered to you. Students are not allowed to bring Polar Cups or “to go” cups to campus. Water bottles are encouraged and we have several bottle filling stations around campus.
Students, please remember to check your school email accounts every day for important announcements and reminders. Remember, if you are having trouble or have questions about anything at all, turn to an adult. And please, if you see something, say something (www.getfortifyfl.com). “Always remember, Shepp loves the kids!”
