November 14, 2022 Announcements
It’s a great day to be a Newberry Panther!

Here are the announcements for Monday, November 14th:
There is Math Tutoring after school today beginning at 3:00 pm today in Ms. Ragan’s classroom for all math EXCEPT Geometry, but there will be NO TUTORING on Thursday (November 17th). Remember, you must have your own transportation at the conclusion of the tutoring.
Literacy Tutoring will take place this week after school today and Wednesday (November 16th) from 3:00 pm until 4:00 pm with Dean Yarn.
Panthers, please remember that as the weather begins to turn cooler outside, blankets are not allowed at school. Also, you must still follow all dress code policies, including not wearing pajamas, slippers, or any type of head coverings as only appropriate clothing is permitted to be worn on campus.
Any Junior boys who are interested in playing in the PowderBuff game on Thursday (November 17th), make sure to attend the informational meeting in Dr. Bolejack’s classroom tomorrow before school at 8:00 am.
Representatives from the US Army will be on the NHS campus tomorrow during Lunch A and Lunch B to provide information about military service after graduation. Make sure to stop by if you’d like to receive information.
Due to the storm last week, the deadline for the yearbook cover contest has been extended until this Wednesday (November 16th). You can submit your design either in person or by email to Ms. Gennaro (gennarotl@gm.sbac.edu). The design must use the theme “Mystery and Mayhem” and should use the colors black, blue, and gold (think of an old-timey detective agency). The student whose artwork is selected for the yearbook cover will win a free yearbook!
Additionally, the deadline for Senior Superlative submissions has also been extended till Wednesday (November 16th) and the final vote will be on Tuesday (November 29th) after we return from the Thanksgiving Break.
Panthers, if you have any photos showing campus life at NHS that you would like to see in this year’s yearbook, please stop by and see Ms. Gennaro.
Our Annual Holiday Food Drive is going on until this Wednesday (November 16th), and we still need your help! Each year, we try to fill boxes with items to provide Thanksgiving dinners for 30 of our Panther families. Each 1st period class has a box with a list of all the items necessary for the box to be complete. Feel free to put extra items in the box, but the box will only "count" if it contains everything on the list. We have a "Box Drive Banner" displayed in the NHS Commons Area to keep track of how we are doing in terms of our goal and the 1st period class that collects the most boxes will win a gourmet breakfast party!
The Junior SGA will meet on Wednesday (October 26th) morning before school at 8:00 am in Dr. Bolejack’s classroom.
The Senior SGA will meet on Wednesday (October 26th) morning before school at 8:00 am in Mr. Marlowe’s classroom.
Representatives from the US Marine Corps will be on the NHS campus on Wednesday (November 16th) during Lunch A and Lunch B to provide information about military service after graduation. Make sure to stop by if you’d like to receive information.
The Robotics Club meets Wednesday (November 16th) after school at 3:00 pm in Dr. Bolejack’s classroom.
There will be Math Tutoring after school beginning at 3:00 pm on Wednesday (November 16th) in Dr. Bolejack’s classroom for GEOMETRY. Remember, you must have your own transportation at the conclusion of the tutoring session.
Seniors, ads for the 2022-23 yearbook are now on sale. The deadline to purchase is Thursday (December 15th). Information can be found on the NHS website or you can see Ms. Gennaro for more information.
We want all our Panthers to remember the Panther way to Success:
*Be Reliable - Maintain consistency with what you say and do
*Be Respectful - Show consideration of someone or something
*Be Responsible - Be dependable, keep promises, and honor commitments
Today’s Reminder:
Tardies: Tardies impact school success and student behavior, are a distraction to all students, and cause a disruption in teaching. Make sure you’re on time every day, to every class. Excessive tardies may result in lunch detention or ISD.
Students, please remember to check your school email accounts every day for important announcements and reminders. Remember, if you are having trouble or have questions about anything at all, turn to an adult. And please, if you see something, say something (www.getfortifyfl.com). “Always remember, Shepp loves the kids!”
