August 15, 2023 Announcements

It’s a great day to be a Newberry Panther! 🐾
Here are the announcements for Tuesday, August 15th:
Class of 2024! There are still some “Last First Day” shirts available for purchase for $15.00. See Mrs. Kathi Thomas in the NHS Media Center if you are interested in getting one.
Our 9th grade students will participate in “Den Day” tomorrow morning during the school day so they can receive important information about campus life at NHS.
Representatives from the US Army are scheduled to be on the NHS campus tomorrow during Lunch A and Lunch B to provide information about military service after graduation. Make sure to stop by and speak with them if you’d like to receive information.
Lockers will be assigned to students beginning Thursday (August 17th) during 1st period. Students MUST have a combination lock in order to reserve a locker. Please listen for the announcement to reserve your locker. (The Deans’ Office may have some extra locks available, if needed.)
Lady Panthers, any girl who is interested in participating in basketball this year, please make sure to attend the meeting in the NHS Gym Thursday (August 17th) during Lunch A and Lunch B. Please see Coach Hughes if you have any questions.
Students, please be sure to park ONLY in the designated parking areas, specifically the Senior lot next to the Main Building and the Junior lot, which is the fenced area next to that. NO parking is allowed in any other areas on campus, including along the side of the NHS Gym or football field
We want all our Panthers to remember the Panther way to Success:
*Be Reliable - Maintain consistency with what you say and do
*Be Respectful - Show consideration of someone or something
*Be Responsible - Be dependable, keep promises, and honor commitments
Our goal is to share information which is given to our Panthers daily. These posts are also shared on our NHS website (https://www.sbac.edu/newberryhigh) and remain available there for the entire school year.
Today’s Reminder:
Phones and Headphones: These must be off and out of sight during class, unless your teacher gives specific permission for use. Cell phones, earbuds, airpods, headphones, and other electronic devices are only permitted to be in use before and after school, and during lunch periods. Students who have any types of these devices out when not permitted may receive disciplinary action.
Students, please remember to check your school email accounts every day for important announcements and reminders. Remember, if you are having trouble or have questions about anything at all, turn to an adult. And please, if you see something, say something (www.getfortifyfl.com). “Always remember, Shepp loves the kids!”
