It’s a great day to be a Newberry Panther!
Here are the announcements for Thursday, October 5th:
Panthers, don’t forget there is no school tomorrow. We hope everyone enjoys the long weekend!
There is a parent meeting for competition cheer scheduled for tonight in the OVMS Gym beginning at 6:00 pm.
Representatives from the US Army are scheduled to be on the NHS campus on Monday (October 9th) during Lunch A and Lunch B to provide information about military service after graduation. Make sure to stop by if you’d like to receive information.
Representatives from the Santa Fe Achieve Program will be back in the NHS Media Center on Monday. Make sure to stop by and get more information if you are interested.
After school CROP sessions will continue next week on Monday through Thursday in Ms. Burkett’s classroom from 3:00 pm until 6:00 pm. If you have any questions, please contact the NHS Guidance Office ASAP.
The Photography Club will have its first meeting on Monday (October 9th) immediately after school in NHS Computer Lab 1. If you are interested in participating, make sure to stop by and see Mr. Phillips.
All girls interested in participating in weightlifting, the first official practice will be held on Monday (October 9th) after school in the NHS Weight Room. Don’t forget that you must have a physical on file to participate. If you have any questions, please contact Mrs. Ross in the NHS Guidance Office.
Lady Panthers, if you are interested in playing basketball this year, early workouts will be held in the NHS Gym on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays beginning next week. Make sure to see Coach Hughes if you have any questions.
Boys basketball conditioning will officially start Monday (October 9th) from 3:00 pm until 5:00 pm. Conditioning will be on the outdoor courts by the football field every Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday. Tryouts will be held on Monday (October 30th).
Lady Panthers, the girls’ soccer tryouts will be on Monday (October 16th) and Tuesday (October 17th) from 3:15 pm until 5:00 pm at the Easton Sports Complex. You must have an updated physical form on file to participate. Please see Coach Roundtree if you have any questions.

Dress Code: Make sure your school attire is appropriate and not distracting. You may not wear baggy/saggy pants and bottoms will not be shorter than “mid thigh”. Tops must cover the midriff, back, and sides of the body at all times. You may not wear bedroom slippers or shoes with wheels. Head coverings of any kind are not permitted to be worn inside. Failure to follow the dress code guidelines may result in lunch detention.
Students, please remember to check your school email accounts every day for important announcements and reminders.
