October 11, 2023 Announcements
It’s a great day to be a Newberry Panther!
Here are the announcements for Wednesday, October 11th:
Panthers, please remember that there is no school on Monday (October 16th) due to a Teacher Workday. Make sure to complete all coursework and turn in any missing assignments as teachers prepare to finalize grades in preparation of the 1st nine week report cards at that time.
After school CROP sessions will continue this week today and tomorrow in Ms. Burkett’s classroom from 3:00 pm until 6:00 pm. If you have any questions, please contact the NHS Guidance Office.
The Robotics Club will meet before school tomorrow at 8:00 am in Ms. Troy’s classroom.
The last parent meeting for competition cheer will be tomorrow night in the OVMS Gym starting at 7:00 pm.
The FCA will have a meeting this Friday (October 13th) before school at 8:10 am in the NHS Gym.
Remember that the Flu Mist vaccine will be given to students who returned a signed consent form on Friday (October 13th) during the school day. If you are interested in your child receiving Flu Mist, please contact the NHS Nurse ASAP.
Lady Panthers, the girls’ soccer tryouts will be on Monday (October 16th) and Tuesday (October 17th) from 3:15 pm until 5:00 pm at the Easton Sports Complex. You must have an updated physical form on file to participate. Please see Coach Roundtree if you have any questions.
The much anticipated Annual PowderBuff tournament will be on Thursday (November 9th) in the NHS Gym. If you are interested in playing, please speak with Anna Grace Bennett, Sarah Priester, or Nicole Marden.
Class shirts for the 11th grade PowderBuff tournament are on sale now, so see Mr. Marlowe to order yours. Please note all players must have a class shirt for their grade to participate.
We want all our Panthers to remember the Panther way to Success:
*Be Reliable - Maintain consistency with what you say and do
*Be Respectful - Show consideration of someone or something
*Be Responsible - Be dependable, keep promises, and honor commitments
Food and Drinks: There should be no food or drinks in the buildings which are from outside campus. NHS is a closed campus and students are not permitted to leave campus for lunch. Additionally, you may not have food dropped off or delivered to you. Students are not allowed to bring Polar Cups or “to go” cups to campus. Water bottles are encouraged and we have several bottle filling stations around campus.
Students, please remember to check your school email accounts every day for important announcements and reminders. Remember, if you are having trouble or have questions about anything at all, turn to an adult. And please, if you see something, say something (www.getfortifyfl.com). “Always remember, Shepp loves the kids!”
