It’s a great day to be a Newberry Panther! 🐾
Here are the announcements for Friday, October 27th:
After school CROP sessions will continue next week on Monday (October 30th) through Thursday (November 2nd) from 3:00 pm until 6:00 pm. If you have any questions, please contact the NHS Guidance Office.
The 11th and 12th grade students will attend a presentation with a representative from Herff Jones on Monday (October 30th) to receive information about options and ordering class rings (11th grade) and graduation announcements, memorabilia, and caps and gowns (12th grade).
Representatives from the US Army are scheduled to be on the NHS campus on Monday (October 30th) during Lunch A and Lunch B to provide information about military service after graduation. Make sure to stop by if you’d like to receive information.
Representatives from the Santa Fe Achieve Program will be back in the NHS Media Center on Monday. Make sure to stop by and get more information if you are interested.
Boys’ basketball tryouts will be held on Monday (October 30th) after school until 5:00 pm. If you’re interested in playing this year, please make sure to be there!
We want to remind everyone that costumes are not permitted to be worn on Tuesday (October 31st). Despite that day being the Halloween holiday, all students must comply with dress code requirements. Make sure your school attire is appropriate and not distracting.
SWI Photographers will return to the NHS campus for picture make up day and retakes for 9th through 11th graders on Tuesday (October 31st). If you haven’t taken your picture yet this year OR you want to retake your picture (prior original photos must be returned that day), this is your last chance.
Panthers, don’t forget the much anticipated Annual PowderBuff tournament will be on Thursday (November 9th) in the NHS Gym. If you are interested in playing, please speak with your class representatives.
The Armed Services Vocational Aptitude Battery (ASVAB) will be offered on the NHS campus during the school day on Wednesday (November 15th) to any student in 10th through 12th grade. This is an informative aptitude test used to determine qualification for enlistment in the military. Make sure to stop by the NHS Guidance Office to sign up if you are interested in taking the ASVAB Test. Remember, this test is only given once a year so don’t miss your chance to take it!
NHS Yearbooks are now on sale for $55.00. After February 1, 2024, the price of the Yearbooks will increase to $65.00, so don't wait to get yours! We want all our Panthers to remember the Panther way to Success:
*Be Reliable - Maintain consistency with what you say and do
*Be Respectful - Show consideration of someone or something
*Be Responsible - Be dependable, keep promises, and honor commitments
Today’s Reminder:
Tardies: Tardies impact school success and student behavior, are a distraction to all students, and cause a disruption in teaching. Make sure you’re on time every day, to every class. Excessive tardies may result in lunch detention or ISD.
Students, please remember to check your school email accounts every day for important announcements and reminders. Remember, if you are having trouble or have questions about anything at all, turn to an adult. And please, if you see something, say something (www.getfortifyfl.com). “Always remember, Shepp loves the kids!”
