Here are the announcements for Thursday, December 14th:
Panthers, don’t forget that Semester 1 Exams/Tests will begin next week with 1st and 4th periods exams/tests being given on Monday (December 18th). All classes will be administering an exam/test under this schedule so we are asking that you make sure to be on time and prepared.
Panthers, make sure to come out and get some sweet treats! The National Honor Society is hosting a Dessert Auction tomorrow beginning at 5:00 pm in the NHS Auditorium in support of the Dance Marathon. Don’t miss out on some yummy goodness!!
Voting for Senior Superlative is continuing through Monday (December 18th). Please visit the NHS Yearbook Website in order to cast your vote. Final voting will take place after Winter Break.
NHS is becoming the first traditional 1:1 Technology School in Alachua County. This means every student will be given a laptop for use during their entire high school career at NHS. The best part of this program is that there is no cost to any student or their family. Even if your child has already received a Chromebook or has access to a computer at home, it is important for your child to be assigned a laptop as it will allow for digital textbooks and seamless transitions between classwork, testing, and homework. Seniors don’t forget to order your caps and gowns for graduation. Prices are expected to increase after the holidays so don’t wait! Order forms are available in the NHS Front Office or online at
NHS Yearbooks are now on sale for $55.00. After February 1, 2024, the price of the Yearbooks will increase to $65.00, so don't wait to get yours! You can place your order for a Yearbook at This website has information (including important deadlines) for the Class of 2024, Newberry staff, Student Government, Clubs, and special projects for the Yearbook and is constantly being updated, so please make sure to check back often.
CLASS OF 2024: Senior Yearbook Ads are now on sale through January 11, 2024 and must be submitted online through the yearbook website as soon as possible. ALSO, voting for Senior Superlative has now begun! Please visit the NHS Yearbook Website in order to cast your vote. The Deadline to vote for the Senior Superlatives is December 18, 2023.

Today’s Reminder:
Dress Code: Make sure your school attire is appropriate and not distracting. You may not wear baggy/saggy pants and bottoms will not be shorter than “mid thigh”. Tops must cover the midriff, back, and sides of the body at all times. You may not wear bedroom slippers or shoes with wheels. Head coverings of any kind are not permitted to be worn inside. Failure to follow the dress code guidelines may result in lunch detention.
Students, please remember to check your school email accounts every day for important announcements and reminders. Remember, if you are having trouble or have questions about anything at all, turn to an adult. And please, if you see something, say something ( “Always remember, Shepp loves the kids!”
