NHS is becoming the first traditional 1:1 Technology School in Alachua County. This means every student will be given a laptop for use during their entire high school career at NHS. The best part of this program is that there is no cost to any student or their family. Even if your child has already received a Chromebook or has access to a computer at home, it is important for your child to be assigned a laptop as it will allow for digital textbooks and seamless transitions between classwork, testing, and homework. Please visit the NHS website ( for more information or contact Mr. Sheppard if you have any questions.
Students, please remember that even though it is getting cooler outside blankets are not allowed at school. Also, you must still follow all dress code policies, including not wearing pajamas, slippers, or any type of head coverings. If you have any questions, please see Dean Burford or Dean Yarn.
NHS Yearbooks are still on sale for $55.00. After February 1, 2024, the price of the Yearbooks will increase to $65.00, so don't wait to get yours! You can place your order for a Yearbook at This website has information (including important deadlines) for the Class of 2024, Newberry staff, Student Government, Clubs, and special projects for the Yearbook and is constantly being updated, so please make sure to check back often.
CLASS OF 2024: Senior Yearbook Ads are now on sale through January 11, 2024. Space is very limited so if you are interested in purchasing an ad for your graduating student, please visit the SWI Photographer website at as soon as possible. We also need Baby Pictures and Senior Quotes for the yearbook. These must be submitted by January 11, 2024 on the yearbook website:
We want all our Panthers to remember the Panther way to Success:
*Be Reliable - Maintain consistency with what you say and do
*Be Respectful - Show consideration of someone or something
*Be Responsible - Be dependable, keep promises, and honor commitments
Today’s Reminder:
Food and Drinks: There should be no food or drinks in the buildings which are from outside campus. NHS is a closed campus and students are not permitted to leave campus for lunch. Additionally, you may not have food dropped off or delivered to you. Students are not allowed to bring Polar Cups or “to go” cups to campus. Water bottles are encouraged and we have several bottle filling stations around campus.
Students, please remember to check your school email accounts every day for important announcements and reminders. Remember, if you are having trouble or have questions about anything at all, turn to an adult. And please, if you see something, say something ( “Always remember, Shepp loves the kids!”
