PANTHERS: For the safety and security of everyone on campus, please DO NOT open the entrance gate for anyone, even if you think you may know them. Students and visitors MUST ONLY be let into our campus by staff in the NHS Front Office. If you are asked to open the gate, please let them know that they must ring the bell to be buzzed in.

Seniors, don’t forget that a representative from the University of Florida will speak to interested Seniors tomorrow by appointment only. You must sign up in the NHS Guidance Office to participate and space is limited, so don’t wait!

The SGA will begin holding nominations for this year’s Homecoming Court on Friday (August 30th) before and after school, and during Lunch A and Lunch B. Final elections for the Homecoming Court will take place on Friday (September 6th).

The Art Club will hold its first meeting after school this Friday (August 30th) in Ms. Holyoke’s classroom. If you are interested in being an officer for the Art Club, please stop by Ms. Holyoke’s classroom and let her know before Friday.

Student Parking Decals will go on sale beginning Tuesday (September 3rd) before school in the NHS CJ Building. The cost for the annual parking pass is $30.00, which can be paid by cash or check (payable to Newberry High School). Please bring a copy of your driver’s license and vehicle registration with you to get your parking pass. ALL STUDENTS parking on NHS school property MUST have a parking decal. Parking tickets will be issued beginning on Monday (September 9th). Parking is ONLY permitted in designated areas (junior and senior parking lots) and NO parking is allowed in any other areas on campus, including along the gym or the football field. Panthers, are you interested in joining the NHS Book Club? Meetings will be held after school every other Wednesday from 3:00 pm until 5:00 pm. The first meeting will be today! Stop by Ms. Talkington’s classroom in the Science Building for more information. All are welcome!

TODAY’S REMINDER:

Food and Drinks: There should be no food or drinks in the buildings which are from outside campus. NHS is a closed campus and students are not permitted to leave campus for lunch. Additionally, you may not have food dropped off or delivered to you. Students are not allowed to bring Polar Cups or “to go” cups to campus. Water bottles are encouraged and we have several bottle filling stations around campus.

Students, please remember to check your school email accounts every day for important announcements and reminders. Remember, if you are having trouble or have questions about anything at all, turn to an adult.
