It’s a great day to be a Newberry Panther!
Here are the announcements for Friday, October 25th:
Report Cards for the 1st nine weeks of this school year are now available in Skyward. If you have any issues in viewing the report card or are unable to access Skyward, please contact Mrs. Honeycutt in the NHS Guidance Office for assistance.
REMINDER: Costumes are not permitted to be worn on Thursday (October 31st). Despite that day being the Halloween holiday, all students must comply with dress code requirements. Make sure your school attire is appropriate and not distracting.
There will be an Environmental Science Club meeting held before school on Monday (October 28th) at 8:10 am in Mrs. Spina‘s classroom. Make sure to be on time!
Representatives from the Santa Fe Achieve Program will be back in the NHS Media Center on Monday (October 28th). Make sure to stop by and get more information if you are interested.
Tryouts for any boys interested in playing basketball this year will be after school on Monday (October 28th) on the outside courts beginning at 3:00 pm. You must have participated in conditioning this week in order to participate in tryouts.
Additionally, tryouts for any girls interested in playing Lady Panthers basketball this year will be after school on Monday (October 28th) in the NHS Gym beginning at 3:30 pm. Don’t be late!
After school CROP sessions for students who are credit deficient for graduation will continue next school this week, Monday (October 28th) through Thursday (October 31st), in Ms. Burkett’s classroom from 3:00 pm until 6:15 pm. There are many remaining dates and it’s not too late to participate! If you have any questions, please contact the NHS Guidance Office ASAP.
The Sophomore SGA will meet before school on Tuesday (October 29th) at 8:00 am in Mrs. Troy’s classroom.
Representatives from the US Marine Corps are scheduled to be on the NHS campus on Tuesday (October 29th) during Lunch A and Lunch B to provide information about military service after graduation. Make sure to stop by if you’d like to receive information.
The Spanish Club will hold a meeting after school on Tuesday (October 29th) from 3:00 pm until 4:00 pm in Seňora Santiago’s classroom. Te esperamos!
Don’t forget that the ASVAB will be given on the NHS campus during the school day on Wednesday (November 6th) to any interested 10th through 12th grade student. This test is an informative aptitude test and is used to determine qualification for enlistment in the military. This test is only given once a year so don’t miss your chance to take it!

TODAY’S REMINDER:
Phones and Headphones: These must be off and out of sight during class, unless your teacher gives specific permission for use. Cell phones, earbuds, airpods, headphones, and other electronic devices are only permitted to be in use before and after school, and during lunch periods. Students who have any types of these devices out when not permitted may receive disciplinary action.
Students, please remember to check your school email accounts every day for important announcements and reminders. Remember, if you are having trouble or have questions about anything at all, turn to an adult.
