It’s a great day to be a Newberry Panther! 🐾
Here are the announcements for Friday, February 14th:
REMINDER: There is NO SCHOOL on Monday (February 17th) due to a Teacher/Student holiday in observance of President’s Day, a celebration of the birthdays and lives of all U.S. presidents.
The Sophomore SGA will meet before school on Tuesday (February 18th) at 8:00 am in Mrs. Troy’s classroom.
Representatives from the US Marine Corps are scheduled to be on the NHS campus on Tuesday (February 18th) during Lunch A and Lunch B to provide information about military service after graduation. Make sure to stop by if you’d like to receive information.
After school CROP sessions for students who are credit deficient for graduation will continue after school next week (Tuesday through Thursday) in Ms. Burkett’s classroom from 3:00 pm until 5:30 pm. If you have any questions, please contact the NHS Guidance Office ASAP.
The Spanish Club will hold a meeting after school on Tuesday (February 18th) from 3:00 pm until 4:00 pm in Seňora Santiago’s classroom. Te esperamos!
The Freshmen SGA will meet before school on Wednesday (February 19th) at 8:00 am in the NHS Media Center.
The National Honor Society will meet on Wednesday (February 19th) before school at 8:10 am in Mrs. Troy’s classroom.
Representatives from the Santa Fe Achieve Program will be back in the NHS Media Center on Wednesday (February 19th). Make sure to stop by and get more information if you are interested in this fantastic program. February is Black History Month. Each day we will be showcasing notable Black inventors and/or African Americans who have made significant contributions in various fields. Today we celebrate Charles Drew, a pioneering surgeon and medical researcher who developed techniques for blood transfusion and established blood banks.

TODAY’S REMINDER:
Phones and Headphones: These must be off and out of sight during class, unless your teacher gives specific permission for use. Cell phones, earbuds, airpods, headphones, and other electronic devices are only permitted to be in use before and after school, and during lunch periods. Students who have any types of these devices out when not permitted may receive disciplinary action.
Students, please remember to check your school email accounts every day for important announcements and reminders.
