February 19, 2025 Announcements
It’s a great day to be a Newberry Panther!

Here are the announcements for Wednesday, February 19th:
REMINDER: Panthers, don't forget to bring your laptop and charging cord to school EVERY DAY as most of the testing this year will be done on the laptops. Additionally, these laptops provide important access to digital textbooks and assist students in transitioning between classwork, testing, and homework. (If your laptop has stopped working or has other operational issues, please bring it so the NHS Site Tech, Mr. Phillips, can investigate and diagnose any issues.)
After school CROP sessions for students who are credit deficient for graduation will continue this week (today through Thursday) in Ms. Burkett’s classroom from 3:00 pm until 5:30 pm. If you have any questions, please contact the NHS Guidance Office ASAP.
Panthers, make sure to turn in any missing assignments or extra credit work so it can be graded for the Quarter 3 Progress Reports, which will be available in Skyward on Tuesday (February 25th). Check with your teachers if you have any questions.
February is Black History Month. Each day we will be showcasing notable Black inventors and/or African Americans who have made significant contributions in various fields. Today we celebrate Marie Van Brittan Brown, inventor of the home security system, enhancing safety in residential areas.
We are committed to the success of ALL our students! Panthers, please remember the Panther Way to Success:
*Be Reliable - Maintain consistency with what you say and do
*Be Respectful - Show consideration of someone or something
*Be Responsible - Be dependable, keep promises, and honor commitments
TODAY’S REMINDER:
Dress Code: Make sure your school attire is appropriate and not distracting. You may not wear baggy/saggy pants and bottoms will not be shorter than “mid thigh”. Tops must cover the midriff, back, and sides of the body at all times. You may not wear bedroom slippers or shoes with wheels. Head coverings of any kind are not permitted to be worn inside. Failure to follow the dress code guidelines may result in lunch detention.
Students, please remember to check your school email accounts every day for important announcements and reminders. Remember, if you are having trouble or have questions about anything at all, turn to an adult. And please, if you see something, say something (www.getfortifyfl.com). “Always remember, Shepp loves the kids!”
