Ms. Iris Bailey

It is such an honor to be your Dean. I have taught in Alachua County since 1995 with 20 of those years being spent at Buchholz High School as a Science (Physical, Integrated and Biology) and ESE Teacher. I am an alumni at the University of Florida where she earned a Bachelor’s of Science Degree majoring in Nutritional Science. But didn’t stop there. While working as an educator, I continued to pursue my education. In 2007 I earned her Master’s Degree in educational leadership and in 2010 an Educational Specialist Degree in Science. I reside in Archer, FL, with my husband. I have always been an intricate part of my community where I volunteered countless hours to Archer’s recreational program throughout the years. In 2016 I became a city commissioner of Archer, FL represented by either speaking or bringing about recommendations to create change. In 2018 I was voted in as Mayor. I have always been an overachiever with the mindset to pursue my dreams.

“Education is the passport to the future, for tomorrow belongs to those who prepare for it today.”

“Your attitude, not your aptitude, will determine your altitude."
