Driver Education (Summer Sessions)

Registration for the Summer 2024 Driver Education classes is now open. Please review the memo below to help make your experience as safe, enjoyable, and rewarding as possible. When satisfactorily completed, you will earn one half (0.5) unweighted high school elective credit.
Classes will be held at Traffic Safety Center, 3501 NE 12th Street, Gainesville FL (352) 955-6959. Please note there is no available school board transportation to or from the site and students must be 15 years old by June 11, 2024. Classes are filled on a first come, first served basis.
🐾 Two session choices - A) 7:30 am - 10:45 am OR B) 12:30 pm – 3:45 pm
🐾 June 5th through July 9th, 2024, Monday through Friday (July 10th is a make-up day)
The course includes the The Traffic Law and Substance Abuse Education Course which is required for a learner’s permit. Students do not need a learner’s permit to start class and any students without a learner's permit will receive it after the first week at the Tax Collector's Office on Saturday June 8, 2024. Students earn half credit and "DMV" testing waivers, and students are tested by ACPS instructors. $100 Lab Fee TO REGISTER CASH, CHECK, CASHIERS CHECK, MONEY ORDER ONLY.
