March 22, 2024 Announcements

It’s a great day to be a Newberry Panther! 🐾
Here are the announcements for Friday, March 22nd:
Students, mark your calendars! Wednesday (March 27th) is the last day of the 3rd nine weeks of school. Make sure to finish your class and homework assignments and get them turned in so they can be graded.
Panthers, it’s time to request elective courses for next year. Emails were sent home before Spring Break with a link to the Google Form. Please make sure to complete and submit this form no later than FRIDAY, MARCH 29, 2024. If you have any questions, speak with your guidance counselor.
After school CROP sessions will continue next week Monday (March 25th) through Thursday (March 28th) in Ms. Burkett’s classroom from 3:00 pm until 5:30 pm. If you have any questions, please contact the NHS Guidance Office ASAP.
Seniors, are you unsure what your next step is after graduation? There will be a job fair in Gainesville on Thursday (April 25th). See Mrs. Cheggeh in the NHS Guidance Office for more information.
Volleyball open gym will continue next week for any Lady Panthers interested in playing next year every Monday and Thursday from 3:00 pm until 5:00 pm. Please be sure to bring water, exercise clothes, knee pads, and closed toe tennis shoes.
Students if you are looking for volunteer hours and like animals stop by the guidance office to inquire about the volunteer opportunity being offered by Newberry Animal Hospital.
We hope you find these Daily Announcements a useful resource for the happenings at NHS. These posts are also shared on our NHS website (https://www.sbac.edu/newberryhigh) and remain available there for the entire school year. Don’t forget to visit the NHS Student Information Center (https://www.sbac.edu/domain/5439) for information regarding NHS activities and events, testing, and graduation requirements, as well as assistance with post-secondary plans.
We want all our Panthers to remember the Panther way to Success:
*Be Reliable - Maintain consistency with what you say and do
*Be Respectful - Show consideration of someone or something
*Be Responsible - Be dependable, keep promises, and honor commitments
Today’s Reminder:
Food and Drinks: There should be no food or drinks in the buildings which are from outside campus. NHS is a closed campus and students are not permitted to leave campus for lunch. Additionally, you may not have food dropped off or delivered to you. Students are not allowed to bring Polar Cups or “to go” cups to campus. Water bottles are encouraged and we have several bottle filling stations around campus.
Students, please remember to check your school email accounts every day for important announcements and reminders. Remember, if you are having trouble or have questions about anything at all, turn to an adult. And please, if you see something, say something (www.getfortifyfl.com). “Always remember, Shepp loves the kids!”
