Summer Series #6 "Volunteer and Make a Difference"

🌞 NHS Summer Series 🌞
Tips and Information to Help You Navigate Summer!
Panthers, the sixth week of our 8-week series will focus on how to “Volunteer and Make a Difference”! Volunteering is a great way for you to give back and make a positive impact on the world. It also gives you the opportunity to make new friends and strengthen community connections. Volunteering can also make a difference in college applications and job resumes, and can provide a deep sense of purpose and fulfilment. Here are some ideas to get you started:
🐾 Participate in a service project, such as with Habitat for Humanity, a local school, or Wreaths Across America.
🐾 Tutor peers or younger students at your school or within your community.
🐾 Connect with local organization, such as an after-school program or your church, to see if they have any need for volunteers.
🐾 Volunteer with your library. You might read with kids or shelve books.
🐾 Visit a soup kitchen or homeless shelter and help people in need.
🐾 Work with animals at an animal shelter.
🐾 Plant a tree. You could even turn it into a community service project by gathering a group to plant trees across your neighborhood.
Information about these suggestions (and so much more) is available on the NHS website and particularly in the NHS Student Information Center (https://www.sbac.edu/domain/5439). Additionally, make sure to look back at the Tips and Information posted in prior weeks for more ideas.
