Welcome to the Academy of Criminal Justice at Newberry High School!
The Newberry High School Academy of Criminal Justice will host the IN-PERSON Open House and Expo on Thursday, February 3, 2022. As always, all events and activities for the Open House and Expo will be conducted outside with in-person participation. The Open House will begin at 6:00 pm and the Expo will start at 7:00 pm. Please make plans to come out and see all that our program has to offer, speak with our Academy Director (Patrick Treese) as well as current and former Academy students, and look into the career opportunities which can become available after completion of the Academy of Criminal Justice program. Don't miss out on this exciting opportunity to look into your possible future!
Class of 2026, thank you for your interest in our magnet program! We are an award-winning and four-time state championship magnet program established for students who are interested in pursuing a career in the legal profession, law enforcement, court systems, or corrections.
At this time, "Shadow Days" are scheduled on the following dates and times so you can have an opportunity to take a peek into a day at Newberry High School and the Criminal Justice program:

Please use the following link to complete the Class of 2026 Newberry High School Academy of Criminal Justice "Shadow Days" Application if you would like the opportunity to participate in a Shadow Day at Newberry High School. All Applications must be submitted no later than 4:00 pm on Friday, January 21, 2022. If your eligibility to participate is confirmed and your request to attend a Shadow Day is approved, you will receive an welcoming email with additional information and an admission ticket by Tuesday, January 25, 2022. We are heading into the application season for the district magnet programs. During the Open House, our teachers, students, and community members will share their experiences with the Criminal Justice program. We will also offer "Shadow Days" for students who are interested and meet the eligibilty criteria. In order to apply for the Academy of Criminal Justice, you may fill out an application that will be made available at the district website.
The following dates represent the tentative application timeline:
January 10, 2022 - Application window opens
February 11, 2022 @ 4:00 pm - Application window closes (any applications received after this time will not be considered unless space is available following all on-time applications)
April 5, 2022 - Initial Parent Notification of Placement (Offered, Waitlisted, Ineligible)
April 12, 2022 - Committment Deadline
Following the initial acceptance deadline, additional seats will be offered as seats become available. These will be through all on-time applications first. If additional seats are available and all on-time applications have been exhausted, late applications will be processed.
