The world belongs to those who READ. ~ Rick Holland, English Poet
Mission Statement
The mission of Talbot Elementary School Media Center is to promote lifelong learning, develop critical thinking skills in utilizing information resources, and foster an appreciation of literature by providing opportunities for all students to gain the self-confidence necessary to successfully learn in an information-rich world.
It is our goal to maintain a warm, inviting environment where students feel welcome and comfortable. With the many resources and varied tools available, reading should be FUN and research should be exciting!
Hours of Operation
The library is open Monday-Friday from 8:00 AM to 1:45 PM. Students may check out books, return books, take AR tests (2024-25: 2nd grade only), and read quietly. Regularly scheduled media classes are on rotation every 2 days. Students may return books at any time by placing them in the book return box inside the library.Lost and Damaged Books
If a book is lost or damaged, the book must be paid for or replaced before the end of the school year. Should the book be found and returned in good condition before the school year is over, payment for a lost or damaged book will be reimbursed. Debts remaining at the end of the school year may be turned in to the office and become a part of the student’s permanent file. Any items checked out at the time a student withdraws from school must be returned and paid for upon withdrawal.Read, Read, Read!
