Message to Our Metcalfe Families
-
Dear Metcalfe Families,
Welcome to Metcalfe Elementary—home of the Wildcats and a proud STEAM Magnet School! At Metcalfe, we are committed to inspiring curious minds and developing future leaders through innovation, collaboration, and a strong academic foundation. We strive to work hand-in-hand with families to create a safe, inclusive, and engaging learning environment where every child can succeed. Together, we empower our Wildcats to DREAM, BELIEVE, and ACHIEVE!
A few important reminders...
- Supervision of students begins at 7:15. Students may report to the cafeteria for breakfast, or directly to their classroom. No student should arrive on campus before 7:15 a.m.
- Our school day ends at 1:52 on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays. We dismiss at 12:37 on Wednesdays.
- ALL visitors to campus are screened through the Raptor Visitor and Volunteer Management System. Visitors or volunteers must have their Driver’s License scanned.
- Students may not be checked out during the last fifteen minutes of the school day. All checkouts must be done before 1:15 on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays. All checkouts on Wednesdays must be done before 12:15. Please remember to contact your child’s teacher with transportation changes in writing or contact the main office via email at metcalfefrontoffice@gm.sbac.edu. For safety reasons, your child will be sent home their usual way if no contact is made with the school.
- To maintain a safe and distraction-free learning environment, we kindly ask that deliveries of balloons and flowers be limited during the school day. While we love to celebrate our Wildcats, such items can cause disruptions in the classroom and on the bus. Thank you for your understanding and support!
- The front office closes at 3:30.
- All gates remain locked throughout the school day. Please enter the school through the front and check in at the front office. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause, but we do this to ensure a calm, safe environment for our children.
- Please adhere to the district dress code that will be enforced throughout the school year. An ongoing violation has been open toe shoes, flip flops, crocs, and sagging pants. Parents will be contacted to bring a change of clothes or shoes for dress code violations. Thank you for your cooperation!
