Book Club Sponsors: Mrs. Bailey and Mrs. Dunn
The Mebane Book Club is made up of a group of students who like to read and share ideas about books. Students read Battle of the Books Titles (minimum 2, prefer 3-4) that are chosen by the county. We then meet during lunch every month to discuss our books, compete in mock competitions, and nosh on some scrumptious snacks. Students and sponsors sign up to bring in the treats. There are no membership dues, and membership is open to grades 6-8. At the end of the school year, students will compete in the district championship.Chess Club Advisers: Lisa Bailey and Justin Troscher Learn to play and compete with Mebane teachers and students. Sign up in the media center or with Mr. Troscher. This is an after-school activity, so you will need a ride at 3:00.

The FCA vision is, "To see the world Impacted for Jesus Christ through the Influence of athletes and coaches." FCA is an inter-denominational ministry with a focus on volunteerism and athleticism.Meetings take place on club days and every Thursday morning on the field at 7:30am. Come join us! Future Farmers of America- dynamic youth organization that changes lives and prepares members for premier leadership, personal growth, and career success through agricultural education. Meetings are after school. Show team meetings usually follow FFFA meetings.Robotics: Advisers: Mrs. Bailey and Mr. Troscher: In a team, you create a robot to work both autonomously and manually driven, to compete with other teams and finally against the district.
SGA Sponsor: Mrs. Tileston: SGA is a student led organization that works hard to make school a better place for students, faculty, and staff. We lead many school-wide activities including pep rallies, candy grams, and canned food drives. We not only work here at school but also throughout the community. SGA's number one priority is to provide leadership for Mebane and supply a vehicle for students to share ideas on improving our school through support and respect for each other.

WMMS Morning Outlook There are two opportunities for you to be a part of the best news team in Alachua. There are 8 students per semester. The first semester is only for 7th and 8th grade, but the second semester is open to grades 6-8. Learn the skills you need to be in front of the camera and behind the scenes. You must be willing to work in all areas of production and be able to get to school by 7:30. Discover how Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Math can be fun. Activities are 1/month. Sign up in the media center to be a part of the next event. Note to parents: We love volunteers to help with these activities. If you want to see the delight in the eyes of middle school students, sign up to be a volunteer student for this very popular club. Meetings are on the first Tuesday of every month in the media center during both lunches. Space is limited, and you must sign up before the last day of the month before in the media center. Create a record of the moments in middle school. Applications are available at the end of the year, to apply for the following year. Take photographs, design layouts for the next year's book, and learn creative ways to get the yearbook published. Join the elite team of Mustangs who get the job done.
