The Role of School Counselors
-
Middle school counselors are educators uniquely trained in child and adolescent development, learning strategies, self-management and social skills. They implement a comprehensive school counseling program to support students through this important developmental period. The school counseling program provides education, prevention and intervention activities, which are integrated into all aspects of students’ lives. The program teaches students the knowledge, attitudes and skills necessary for academic, career and social/emotional development.

Hey Hawks! I am so excited to be back on the Howard Bishop team for my second year. As many of you know, I completed my school counseling internship last fall at Howard Bishop. I was officially hired in December as a school counselor after receiving my M.Ed./Ed.S. in Counselor Education from the University of Florida. I am happy to be back during this unique year to provide resources and support to help every student thrive. I can't wait to work with our Howard Bishop Community to create compassionate citizens and lifelong learners!Do you want to make an appointment to see Ms. Anhalt? Fill out this form.

email: noguerolcmGreetings! I am looking forward to working with everyone here at Bishop Middle School. I am returning to Gainesville after being away for many years. I was school counselor at Leto High School in Tampa, Florida for 10 years. Prior to that, I was a Spanish teacher and ESOL teacher. I have always worked in education and believe strongly in providing students and families with all the resources they need to be successful in school and beyond.
