It is the mission of the Fort Clarke R.E.A.C.H. program to develop students who embrace a higher level of learning and scholarship. This program is a unique learning opportunity in which students will engage with historical content to instill a deeper understanding of the research process.
The R.E.A.C.H. (Research, Evaluate, Analyze, Communicate, Historical Perspective) program is an advanced studies curriculum designed for highly motivated, college-bound students at Fort Clarke Middle School. This academically rigorous program offers a research-focused curriculum, emphasizing critical thinking skills and cooperative learning. Student experiences throughout the three-year program will prepare them for challenging high school courses and beyond. R.E.A.C.H. creates a distinctive middle school experience through cutting-edge technology, an integrated curriculum, and its academic ties to the University of Florida. Through community partnerships, we have invested in the latest educational technology. During their tenure, students will interact with hardware such as: SmartBoards, Airliners, and Apple workstations. Collaborative lesson planning will encourage students to connect key principles to multiple subject areas. Our close-knit relationship with the University of Florida Library System allows our students to have access to the archives of one of the most prestigious public universities in the Nation.
