Volunteering

  • We welcome volunteers in the Alachua County Public Schools! The active participation of parents and community members in the classroom extends the effectiveness of teachers and staff. Volunteers also help the district deliver valuable services to students and schools that would not be feasible without the support of the community. A volunteer may work with students in the classroom, chaperone field trips, assist teachers, mentor, help with fundraisers, and special activities–the possibilities are endless!

Volunteering is also a wonderful way for parents to stay involved in their child’s education and to see first-hand what is happening at their child’s school. If you think you will go on a field trip or help in your child’s classroom at any time during the year, please fill out the application at the beginning of the school year to become a qualified volunteer.

The district application is available online through Raptor Technologies, which is the program used to check in visitors and volunteers to our schools. Each of our schools can assist you in accessing the online application. You can access the volunteer application from the district’s website or directly at bit.ly/ACPSapp.

Each school in the district has a volunteer coordinator. If you are interested in volunteering, you can contact your child’s school directly or the School Volunteer Office at 352-955-7250 x 6411 or at volunteers@gm.sbac.edu
