Safety Patrols

  • Welcome NES Safety Patrol (Ambassadors)! I hope you have enjoyed your summer. It is time to get ready for a great adventure and fun school year. Due to construction at NES we will not hold a Patrol Leadership Camp prior to school opening. I hope to hold one once school is in session and will post and send home notices regarding schedule and dates. Since we are not holding the Leadership Camp before school starts, patrols can plan to stop by the music room during Meet the Teacher on Friday, August 10 from 1:30 – 2:30 pm to check out your belt and receive your post for the 1st nine weeks of school. If your belt is lost, there will be a $5 fee to receive a replacement.

Parents are needed for key roles in our Patrol Booster Club. The following officer positions will need to
    be filled ASAP.

    • Fundraising Chairperson – Oversees all fundraising for Patrols. Other parents will volunteer to head
individual fundraisers but the Chairperson will work to ensure all goes well.
    • Treasurer 1 – Deals with handling money/checking/and turns in monthly statements to school. This person is a check signer for the account. Availability is important for this job as you will need to be able to make deposits and collect funds during the day.
    • Treasurer 2 – Deals with student accounts for the DC trip and assists the sponsor in completing trip deposits to the travel agency. Monthly statements will be made available to parents to keep them informed of their progress toward earning money toward the cost of the trip. This person will also be a signer on Patrol account. An extensive knowledge of Excel is important for this position.
    • Secretary – This person will attend all board and general meetings and takes detailed minutes. These minutes will be shared with all patrol parents to keep everyone informed. This person will also collect and calculate all volunteer hours monthly for the patrols. Hours each month will be shared with the NES Volunteer Coordinator.

If you are interested or have questions regarding these positions, please see Mrs Short. Applications will be available Friday, August 10.
