The faculty and staff at Williams Elementary are committed to providing a well-rounded curriculum that meets the needs of all levels of learners. Our curriculum is based on the Florida State Standards. Parent and student resources regarding the standards can be accessed at CPALMS.Reading
Treasures from MacMillan McGraw/Hill, is the district-adopted core reading series that addresses the Reading/Language Arts standards. During reading instruction, teachers differentiate to meet student needs through literacy workstations and small group instruction.Math
GO Math: Florida from Houghton Mifflin Harcourt serves as the basis for our math program. Calendar Math is used to review previously learned math skills. Additional materials are used by faculty and staff to align instruction and activities with the standards.Science
National Geographic Science is the district-adopted program that is used to teach the Science Next Generation SSS. In addition to classroom instruction, students visit our Science Lab weekly to engage in hands-on learning that aligns with current concepts.Students with an Individualized Education Program (IEP) are provided services through our Exceptional Student Education program based on the recommendations of the IEP team. We strive to provide the most appropriate setting that meets the unique needs of each individual student.
Students performing below grade level in reading and/or math may receive additional instruction using research-based materials in place of going to their Resource teacher or Teacher PE.
