School Grades

  • School grades are assigned each year to schools based on criteria established by the Florida legislature and the State Board of Education.

A school’s grade includes up to eleven components: there are four achievement components and four learning gains components, based on student performance on statewide standardized assessments. There are also components for middle school acceleration, graduation rate, and college and career acceleration.

The points earned for each component are added together and then divided by the total number of available points to determine the percentage of points and letter grade earned.

Additional information about school and district grades - including an interactive Know Your Schools Portal and the calculations for each school - is available on Florida's School Accountability Reports website.
