Student Educational Success and Schools of Excellence are our Top Priority!
Welcome to a new school year and a new beginning. As we honor the past and those who have contributed to the progress of Alachua County Public Schools, we look forward to a future filled with enormous possibilities and potential for new and engaging learning experiences for boys and girls. Every day we are committed to the educational success of each student, and we accept the sacred trust you have placed in us for the safekeeping and nurturing of your special treasures, your children.
Principals, teachers, and district staff are fully committed to providing your children with quality opportunities to learn and succeed. We encourage you to partner with us in this effort by ensuring that your children are supported through a healthy lifestyle (adequate rest, proper brain-friendly nutrition, and emotional comfort), a safe learning environment at home, and opportunities for enjoyable and mentally stimulating learning activities such as reading, creative writing, model-building, puzzles, gaming (problem-solving) and exposure to the arts and culture. Such activities and experiences help children develop their ability to think, problem-solve, and communicate their thoughts and ideas effectively. They promote skills and knowledge that will benefit children in and out of the classroom.
Your child’s public school education is the last frontier for maintaining and sustaining the democratic ideals of our great American society. Though imperfect, it is still the best hope for social justice and equality for all children and families.
Your trust in us will be honored and it is our promise to deliver the quality education you expect.
We hope the information on this site is useful and will help you be engaged in your child’s education. We will continue to add new features as appropriate. If you feel that there is something that should be included on this page, please contact our Public Information Office at jackie.johnson@gm.sbac.edu.
