NOTICE TO FAMILIES:  21st CCLC Programs will not be in Alachua County Schools for the 2022-2023 school year.  After Summer 2022, all grants will close.  Please plan to seek alternative afterschool options for 2022-2023.

The 21st CCLC programs are FREE academic after-school and summer programs. The 21st CCLC initiative is a key component of the Every Student Succeeds Act (ESSA). Authorized under Title IV, Part B, of the Elementary and Secondary Education Act (ESEA), as amended by the Every Student Succeeds Act (ESSA) of 2015.

Alachua County School District has three 21st CCLC grants which operate at seven school-based centers. The grant names are Project Discovery, Project Inspire, and Project Vitalize.  The seven participating schools are (Project Inspire) Alachua Elementary & Irby Elementary in the City of Alachua; (Project Discovery) Idylwild Elementary, and Metcalfe Elementary; (Project Vitalize) Foster Elementary, Lincoln Middle, and Westwood Middle.  Each center is staffed with a Site Coordinator who assists with the day-to-day operations. Florida certificated teachers and support staff deliver academic enrichment and personal enrichment lessons. The grant is managed by District Project Manager Melissa Montgomery.  Application and acceptance to a program is required.  Application does not guarantee acceptance.  21st CCLC is not first-come, first-serve.  Students are expected to attend regularly and to stay for the duration of the program day in order to gain the most benefits of academic support.  21st CCLC is not a "drop-in" program.  Regular participation and attendance is mandatory.  Part-time attendance is not allowable, and puts programs out of federal grant compliance.

21st CCLC programs provide a range of high-quality services to support student learning and development.  All services are FREE.
