    Attendance and Punctuality

It’s important that you are on time and attend every day. Summer school lasts 22 days: we meet Monday-Friday. You must attend the session you are assigned to.

    Drop-Off/Pick-Up

For safety reasons, students must be dropped-off and picked-up outside the Traffic Safety Center (TSC), that is, outside the front gate. Students will enter and exit the TSC on foot. Cars may only enter the TSC on the first day to drop off students and in cases of inclement weather (e.g., thunderstorms).

    Attire

Students must comply with the SBAC Code of Conduct for Secondary Schools. Articles of clothing that are safety hazards, such as flip-flops, are strictly prohibited during lab days. Use of electronic devices, headphones, ear buds, etc., during class is prohibited. Cell phones may only be used before or after the appropriate instructional session; violators will have their phones confiscated.

    Licensing

Students must have their Learner’s Permit on all lab days.

    Students Without a Learner’s Permit

The Tax Collector's Office, located at 5830 NW 34th Blvd, in Gainesville, will be open on Saturday, June 14, 2025, for the purpose of issuing summer school students a Learner’s Permit.

The parent or legal guardian must accompany the student, sign a parental consent form, and bring the following:

    1. Certified copy of Birth Certificate (raised seal – not just a photo copy), or a U.S. passport.
    2. Social Security Card, or official document issued by the Social Security office verifying your social security number.
    3. Two proofs of residency (GRU bill, phone bill, etc.). No P.O. Box addresses accepted.
    4. Students must be in compliance with their school’s attendance policy.
    5. Glasses – if you wear glasses, you must have them to pass the vision test.
    6. Cash or check for $54.25.
